welcome back to xyz’s dumbass rambling! today we’re talking about how asagiri writes dazai; specifically how he’s a gary stu. i adore bungo stray dogs and i adore asagiris writing of most characters. dazai is a special case, however. he’s written to know basically EVERYTHING about everyone. a prime example of this is the guild arc; starting off with when he knew about lovecrafts weak spot before steinbeck told him. if i recall correctly, he managed to get the bomb there before the information was disclosed, unless chuuya managed to hear it and get it there THAT fast.

i’m legit so confused about the scene in the azure messenger arc when dazai tells atsushi about how kunikida accidentally caused the azure king to blow himself up; that’s not his trauma to share. if kunikida wanted to tell atsushi about that, he would’ve done it himself. it was unneeded? i understand needing to know about kunikida and the azure king for later on but dazai didn’t need to be the one to disclose it. in such a disrespectful manner, too.
