had an ultimate brain blast the other day about SU pokemon partners and i had to illustrate my point because I don't think I've seen a 'Steven and Minior' take before

Steven having a minior would parallel super well with the early conflict in which he struggles with his powers as well as the future developments later on. Minior is a comet/from space just like the gems, and it has a 'shelled form' and 'star form' that works super well as a parallel to Steven pre-awakening to his powers.

In my head in this AU Steven would be given the Minior after Rose dies, and would act as the reminder of her that he struggles with in the main series. It would stay completely shelled until the gem glow canon event, in which it first bursts completely out of its shell but just as quickly reforms it back around itself. Steven's minior would be half-shelled (half gem) and only break fully free of it in the events of future when his powers go haywire as a result of his emotions.

Miniors ability even reflects this quite well.

I'm still thinking on what the other gems's would be - I'd want them all to feel relevant in some way to who they are as a character and/or where they go. Honestly this was a fun experiment I don't usually go for this kind of art style.

Someone on my "Steven Universe isn't actually bad" post was like "yeah but it has a real issue with pasificim" girl you mean this kid's TV show?? Because the bad guys change their ways and become friends with the main character? In a kids show. A kids show on cartoon network. With a predominantly child audience. The main character in a kid's show making friends with the reformed antagonists. That's pacifism?? That's problematic levels of pacifism??
