The Syrtis Major Volcanic Province - The Martian Surface
Acquired by the High Resolution Stereo Camera on ESA’s Mars Express Satellite, this image depicts a detailed region of the Martian Nili Fossae Graben system. This system is an area of great interest to geologists due to the variety of its landscape. The graben system contains numerous troughs, plateaus, impact craters and depressions. Planetary Scientists are actively studying the data collected from ESA’s Mars Express through images similar to this.

Islamic Art
Most everyone is familiar with geometry and patterns.  The above image by Richard Henry is included here to give some mathematical frame of reference.  The artistic emphasis of these ideas gained prominence due to certain religious rules in Islamic religious texts forbidding the portrayal of human forms in worship.  Additionally, the advanced mathematical discoveries in the middle east brought about some wonder toward the patterns of these ideas.  The underlying message in such geometries, within the Islamic context, is the infinite and natural power of God.  It is important to note that ideas like zero, our decimal counting system, and algebra originated from India and the middle east.  Arabic calligraphy is also similarly celebrated and made the subject of  many past and current Islamic art.

Out of This World! Jewelry in the Space Age is on display through January 4, 2016 at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and it looks AMAZING. If you are anywhere near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the rest of this year, it’s your startorial duty to go see this exhibition.
Hilary-Morgan Watt alerted me to its existence just after it opened (and took the in-person pics above). I think this calls for a Startorialist road trip ASAP.
From the museum’s website:
Out of This World! Jewelry in the Space Age brings together scientific fact and pop culture in a showcase of wearable and decorative arts related to outer space, space travel, the space age, and the powerful influence these topics have had on human civilization.
Beginning with jewelry and artifacts memorializing the appearance of Halley’s Comet in 1835, Out of this World! travels forward through time to explore nearly 200 objects from landmark moments in space-related history. Pieces in the exhibition include ephemera, jewelry, and objets d’art inspired by events that captured our imagination, such as the 1865 publication of Jules Verne’s From the Earth to the Moon, the 1957 Sputnik launch that kicked off the space race of the Cold War, and milestone NASA missions.

5 Crystals for Small Business Owners
Clear Quartz
All purpose. Easily programmable. Can be used to cleanse business spaces when you don’t want to risk contamination with scent/residue.
Citrine
One of the best stones for manifesting prosperity and abundance. Attracts happiness. Also, citrine does not accumulate negative energy, so it does not need to be cleansed. Place citrine near business items for help in attracting prosperity.
Obsidian
For grounding, protection, and peace of mind. Useful to help in times of worry and anxiety. Note that no crystal is a substitute for a security system.
Aventurine
Also called “the luck stone.” Favored by gamblers. Associated with creativity, calming energy, clarity, and abundance. Carry aventurine with you to encourage luck and to open opportunities.
Rose Quartz
Associated with attracting romantic love, I think rose quartz is useful for business owners who are exceptionally hard on themselves. Rose quartz, perhaps more than anything, helps encourage self-love and self-acceptance. Put a hunk of rose quartz underneath your bed when you’re feeling particularly blue about your business.

Following the international success of the 30-year sweatshirt - a range of simple, cotton jumpers made to last a lifetime - British designer Tom Cridland is back with his most ambitious project to date: a t-shirt that will not show any signs of wear and tear until 2045.

Garden witches, green witches, healers and anyone who uses herbs in their practice...
This is a really good, comprehensive list of edible flowers. It has a vivid description each plant’s taste and how to use and harvest as well as including which parts of the plant are inedible (x)
Here’s a great free ebook on cooking, brewing and blending herbs (x)
This website has fantastic gardening advice. Just search for a plant and it will tell you how to grow it, what grows indoors, pest, solutions, trivia and much, much more. (x) And it even has an edible gardening section (x) plus an indoor section if you don’t have a garden (x)
If you have any other resources, feel free to add them to this list.

So You Think You’ve been Cursed
You probably haven’t. Honestly. Being cursed requires a lot, most notably someone to curse you (there’s just not that many magical practitioners in the world, fewer even that curse, least of whom care about cursing you). But you’re probably in someone’s inbox insisting that you’ve definitely been curse, so lets begin this journey.
Before you do anything check if you’ve actually been cursed. I recommend these links. If you still think you’re cursed, keep reading.
Now start by cleansing yourself. You’ll be little use magically if you have a curse bogging down your body and mind. I find that spells which physically cleanse the body work the best.
Shower Disks for Cleansing and Purifying
Curse Removal Body Scrub
Purification and Protection Scrub
Self-Cleansing through Ritual Bathing
Detoxifying Bath Spell
Next cleanse others you think may have been cursed. People are often concerned that their whole family has been cursed. If Grandma’s down for a magical ritual bath that’s ideal, but often not the case. Here are some way to slip in cleansing magic under the radar.
Key Lime Personal Cleansing Cupcakes
Basic Purification Potion
Magic Herbal Teas
Securi-Tea
Plant this soap into your soap dish
Continue with the cleansing theme and cleanse your physical space. Doing a smoke cleansing is typically the most effective, but these are suggestions if you are unable to go that route.
Anti-Curse Powder
Curseturner Powder
Hexbreaker Powder
Purifying Lemon Bay Salt
Cleansing Mist Recipes
Liquid Sage Cleanser
Now it time to switch over to protecting yourself. Don’t wipe your slate clean only to leave yourself open to another attack. Do one of these on a regular basis to keep your bases covered.
Shower Disks for Protection
LUSH Protection Bath
Simple Protective Cleansing Bath
Armor of Love Protection Bath
Protection Tea
Finally protect your space, and this can incapsulate the people in it. Along the same line as protecting yourself, make sure to maintain these on a regular basis.
Home Protection Sachet
Protection Powder
Protection Amulet for a Loved One
Folk Charms for Home Protection
Magically Protecting Your Home
Witch Bottle
Bonus: If you’re not really the “forgive and forget” kind of person (and you know decisively who cursed you) we have a post to help you get your revenge.
Note: This post is geared towards beginner witches or those otherwise not magically inclined. If there’s truly been an extensive curse put on you, try these suggestions and if their effect is minimal then go seek out a magical practitioner in your area that can help you further.

Sea Witch Bath
Maybe you’re a landlocked sea witch, maybe you’re looking for a setting to commune with your ocean deity, maybe you just feel like pampering yourself like a mermaid. We’ve got the bath spell for you.
First prep the bath mixture. You’ll need:
1 part sea salt
1 part epsom salt
1 part kelp powder
½ part baking soda
essential oil of rosemary
Combine all the ingredients in a jar, then charge the mixture under the full moon. Store with a piece of moonstone when not in use.
For the spell you’ll need:
the sea witch bath mixture
muslin bag or old pantyhose
variety of candles
sea related trinkets (i.e. seashells, sea glass, mermaid offerings, etc.)
jasmine or eucalyptus incense
Arrange your trinkets and candles around the rim of the bathtub, then light the incense and candles. While waiting for the bathtub to fill with warm water, place a cup of the bath mixture into the muslin bag or pantyhose and tie it shut. Make sure theres enough room in the bag for when the kelp expands. Drop it into the bath water, then soak until you feel you’ve absorbed all the energy out of the bath.
Enjoy your soak, all you lovely sea witches~
