My "Chess Match", inspired by Tom Otterness and @PhotoExtremist. This is one in a series of three. I got these shots by using my tripod to hold the camera. I then moved from place to place while using the timer on my camera. Once I got home I used photoshop to layer the pictures. Very easy.
Location: Nelson D. Rockefeller Park in New York City.

Tom Otterness Alligator on a rainy day in Brooklyn's MetroTech. This looks just like the alligator in Life Underground, except here the sewer cap is positioned in a real street, making it look more real.
This is one of my favorite shots, I call it "ouch".

Large Frog and Bee by Tom Otterness. This located outside of the Montefiore Children's Hospital in the Bronx. We took the train all the way to the last stop to get pictures of this and the "Suspended Mind".
The Suspended Mind is located in the lobby of the Discovery Center. It is a real live moving pendulum clock. We have to get permission to take photos of this one since its inside the building, so we'll be back.

A "Tourist" statue by Tom Otterness. This is all that remains at the Times Square Hilton. A remnant from the Time and Money installation that was removed about four months ago. Luckily for us, a sharp-eyed bellhop pointed us to this great piece that is embedded into the front desk counter.
He also gave us this great picture book that tells us more about Tom Otterness and the art that was installed here. My dad has some cool pictures of that Time and Money.

Policewoman above ground. Perhaps standing guard over the Tom Otterness, "Life Underground" art exhibit. This exhibit is huge. We walked around taking pictures of the station and platforms for about two hours... and we probably missed a few! Location: Eighth Avenue Subway Line at the 14th Street station. This specific statue is installed at street level; on the exterior of the elevator on the Northwest corner of 14th street.

The Marriage of Money and Real Estate by Tom Otterness, © 1996.
My first ride on the tram was pretty cool. I found the island kind of plain and boring, but they did have lots of parks and good pizza.

This Humpty Dumpty is just one of the great small statues by Tom Otterness. There's probably about 50 cool small statues in the park. This is a great place for picnic and to hang out and have fun. I have lots of cool pictures from here that I will keep sharing.

The really cool new Playground created by Tom Otterness. I discovered lots of cool  hidden surprises inside the area you climb into. I had a lot of fun playing up there and made a few new friends too!

During my winter break week, I traveled all over NYC to see all of the great Tom Otterness statues. This is a picture of me standing outside of his studio.
I will be sharing my photos over the next few weeks for all to enjoy.
