Dear friends, Hello, this is the production staff of the AOTU World donghua speaking. We are terribly apologetic to inform you that after a series of heated internal discussions, we have reached a difficult consensus: the AOTU Season 4 donghua shall be postponed after the release of episode 12. Broadcasting is expected to resume in late October. Since March, Shanghai has been seriously affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, and the production team faced a number of challenging obstacles in the development process of the 4th season—to name a few, model rendering and post-production efficiency being largely reduced due to the staff's consistent work-from-home state, the quarantine isolation of multiple members leading to difficulties in long-distance coordination and the repeated compression of production time; on top of this the recording studio has also been unable to open in cooperation with COVID policies, which restricts the sound production process greatly as well. If we continue pursuing weekly updates under these circumstances, the reduced quality of the animation will prove to be an inevitable consequence. In recent weeks the epidemic situation has seen slight improvement, and our production team after returning to headquarters has immediately resumed a tight production schedule. Through the debates between consistency of updates and quality, staff has reached the conclusion that we ultimately strive to prioritize animation quality—we certainly do not wish to see the show's quality affected by our COVID-inflicted predicament, nor would we settle for offering a perfunctory response in our haste to your patience and love for the show. In the blink of an eye AOTU has been released for nearly six years; we would've never made it this far without our fans here pouring their hearts and souls into the show. Your passion and support continue to act as our incentive to keep producing to this day. Apart from the influence of the epidemic, the staff has also kept a close eye on fan feedback ever since the release of season 4—we fully understand your burning desire to explore the complete setting of the AOTU World's universe as well as uncover the rest of the storyline, and your criticism has been received with the knowledge that our common goal in mind is to present the show in its full potential. After further discussion of your opinions on the pacing, plot and characterization, the production team has decided to earnestly accept our fans' suggestions and critique. We will use the extended time to continue refining the plot, and we hope that the effort we put in can improve your overall viewing experience. We'd like to thank you once again for all your support—to those who have journeyed with us to where we are now, we hope AOTU will continue to accompany you in the years to come.
