UPDATE: We had a new entry today to the official RK1700 tag on AO3, and unfortunately, it shows that my attempt to fix the posting problem didn’t work. (Truly a tragedy when the time-honored tradition of “turning it off and on” fails you.) Needless to say, I had to spend the last half-hour staring at settings in the IFTTT site - mostly in utter confusion over the updated layouts - in order to try a different fix. Hopefully, updating the RSS feed link will be enough to get things running this time around.
Hello everyone. It has unfortunately happened again: For whatever reason, IFTTT stopped working on this blog sometime around mid-July, and therefore this blog hasn't been able to catalogue any new RK1700 fics since then. I apologize sincerely for all of the fics that were left behind due to this technical error. Hello everyone. It has unfortunately happened again: For whatever reason, IFTTT stopped working on this blog sometime around mid-July, and therefore this blog hasn't been able to catalogue any new RK1700 fics since then. One of the problems many androids were finding out in their newfound freedom was the challenge of an overarching system demanding assimilation instead of exploration. Humans had been wary enough of the potential androids held over them, and the government had been none too keen on letting them run about without harder boundaries beyond the typical social contract. No: to become an American citizen, one needed to become as human as possible.
That meant functioning with a secondary gender. It was hard for Connor to decide, because all of the roles were something he was more than capable of fulfilling. Perhaps, then, it depended on what sort of partner he wanted.
And that realization blindsided him one humid Monday morning, when Nines walked into the precinct - scented as an Omega.

It started, like all things involving Connor, incredibly subtly. To a human's eye, absolutely nothing was out of the ordinary between Connor and the Lieutenant, however to an android it was almost like a blaring neon sign. And it could have been, with the trace amounts of thirium that lined the Lieutenants mouth whenever he and Connor returned from depositing evidence, or from a scene that (in theory) they could have finished collecting evidence from in much less time than was used.
