I wanted to explore an outdoor background with a rougher kind of style so I just googled that which brought me to the Canon website in which they have this picture. I love the natural light in this photo and the little reflections and shadows on it. I like the angling which really shows the whole camera and natural lighting and reflection blends.

For my second shot in my discover I found Mike O'Tool. He has a similar style when it comes to using shadows as Brendan Ryan. Mike's lighting makes the shot look dark and timid. The background has a rough gradient that I really like. It is a rough cut aesthetic that gives it a wilderness theme.

To discover some product shot I simply searched "Product shot photographers" and Brendan Ryan was the photographer that showed up first. I am intrigued by his used of lighting with minimal use of shadows. The strong colourful background reflects the product with the colour coordination being intentional as it reflects the themes seen by the product such as that watermelon red seen in the background of the watermelon flavour VIT-HIT.

Lab 1
Subjects used flagging methods
The images turned out very detailed and the lighting and shading worked very well. Only problem was there was no stand or way of the flags to be held manually so the subject had to hold the flags.

Lab 1, portraits.
I think the aperture worked out well with the focus on the subject being detailed as well as simple. I think there is a lot of shadow in the image but that was because of the lack of natural light as it was taken in the evening time.

Ansel Adams is a very influential photographer due to his work in the natural world. I like this image because of the black and white and the use of symmetry in the image.
