Last year, Sir Michael Gambon (Professor Dumbledore) passed away when I was happily exploring and unleashing my inner Potterhead at the Warner Bros. Studios in London. This year, on the same day, Dame Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall) has also passed. A very memorable day indeed, I will always remember their efforts in making the Harry Potter series so much better than it was already. They will be missed and RIP.

Dame Maggie Smith Has Passed Away at 89

We are deeply saddened to report that Dame Maggie Smith, beloved actress known to Harry Potter fans for portraying Professor McGonagall, has passed away at the age of 89.
Her two sons, Toby Stephens and Chris Larkin have released a statement saying“It is with great sadness we have to announce the death of Dame Maggie Smith.”
She passed away peacefully in hospital early this morning, Friday 27th September. An intensely private person, she was with friends and family at the end. She leaves two sons and five loving grandchildren who are devastated by the loss of their extraordinary mother and grandmother. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the wonderful staff at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their care and unstinting kindness during her final days. We thank you for all your kind messages and support and ask that you respect our privacy at this time.
Our deepest sympathies are with Smith’s family, friends, and loved ones at this difficult time.

March ended so fast that I barely had time to organise my thoughts and thanks to the people who care so much about me. The highlight of the year and kudos to the roommate for being so creative this year.

Throwback on my Korean interpreting job last week. My job was to interpret for the students from Mokpo University South Korea during their company visits and while touring around Kuala Lumpur. We visited FIND recruitment agency, Royal Chulan Hotel, DHL, Help University, Berjaya Corp, and Batik Air. On top of that, we also went to the Museum of Islamic Art, Pasar Seni, Dataran Merdeka, and Batu Caves, where it's my first time visiting some of these places.
I guess I stayed home too long and my immune system got lazy as I had a bad sore throat during the first night and it turned into a cold the next day but I was still ok to carry on with the job, haven't been this sick for a long time, it was worse than the time I got Covid. Anyway, it was an unforgettable experience and I've got a sweet feedback, one of the students told me that she aspired to be just like me in the future, being able to speak both Korean and English (she's an English literature major).
Hoping to expand my profile further into the translation and interpretation field as I do feel that I am no longer fit to be a copywriter anymore.

A very late post about the Van Gogh art exhibition I visited last Christmas. It brings back memories when I was studying art back in university. Just putting this up so that I could remember. I think I might be posting more memories on Tumblr instead.
The room was actually a 3D art!

Technology makes possible
Things and dreams that were impossible are now made possible by technology. Some hurdles are no longer a hinder to certain dreams like how there were in the past...
I once wrote a blog post about the pros and cons of technology <-- click if you are interested. This time I would like to express some thoughts on how technology helps people realise dreams that were once impossible.
Like if anyone dreams of being a driver. 20-30 years ago, it was impossible to be one if you had not memorised the whole map or run the roads as though you were running in your backyard. Now, it is possible; you will need to know how to drive courteously, grasp how roads work, and have a good GPS! And voila, you can slither on the roads and bring anyone anywhere.
Or anyone who has hopes of being a designer but couldn't draw. It was pretty impossible in the past, but now, if you could put pieces together and make them look nice, using software like Photoshop could have made someone's dream come true, and an amazing designer (who couldn't draw, but you will never know) is born!
There are many other examples, but it's kinda late now, so I shall just stop here and keep the other stuff for another day.

I realised, at this point of time, this question is not only directed to your physical health but to you mental health as well. Some may look as healthy as a horse physically but mentally they are brittle and will break into pieces anytime when the right trigger hits. Sometimes, I would wonder... Why is mental health such an important thing now?? How come almost everybody has health issues mentally?? But this was never mentioned years ago.. Are we generally weaker? Does this mean our parents are mentally stronger to go through the hurdles in life while we would just hurl and curl at a corner at the smallest failure or unsuccessful-ness? Are we mentally weaker? Or, it's just how the society changes? I admit.. My mental health is terrible.. due to the situations I need to face during the day that kinda break my IQ, EQ and all the Qs.. I tried distracting myself from the problems by practicing #lettering #bulletjournal and fulfill my #stationeryaddict ness So, look.. I know it still looks terrible if you compare it with the #bujo gurus out there but just my little record of my progress.. I think I'd improved tho.. just the "h" looks kinda weird.. Anyway, take some time out to think if you are mentally ok.. and it's ok to be not ok.. Considering therapy but me #notimenomoney That's all for my long winded post.. Toodles.. https://www.instagram.com/p/CElJt78gNtb/?igshid=e8khxg9hrqt4

My very first Washi swatch!! Being the #stationeryaddict that I am, #washi is also a must-collect item.. You will be able to imagine how many washi parcels that I have been receiving lately... And there are still a few more on the way and loads stocked up in my shopping cart waiting to be checked out.. I am using the Muji notebook. I just realised the papers are smoother than normal papers and it's great for washi and sticker swatches because you can peel them off lightly without tearing if you made a mistake. However, after sticking and peeling a gazillion times, there are still not straight!!!! #washitape #stationeryjunkie #washitapeaddict #stationeryfreak #stationeryhoarder #stationerylove #washitapelove #washitapeswatch https://www.instagram.com/p/CEYCPc4g07S/?igshid=14kns0rgy71ie

One of my favourite quotes in Harry Potter. Well, who am I kidding? I love all quotes from Harry Potter.. hahahaha Still practicing with writing in different kind of fonts in my #bujo journey. I know it is not great but I only share when I feel that I have improved. Just a small record and a pat on the shoulder... Stationery used: Outline - The TOPIK pen (Haha, it is indeed a very good pen, this is the old version given when I took the exam in 2012, there was only one tip. The current TOPIK pens have 2 tips) to outline and write the whole quote Colour in - Stabillo Cappi Marker Pen to colour in the block letters White "in-line" - Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen 10, very pigmented so only a few lines is needed for the top letters and only one line for the letters below and it's a pretty white line.. #stationeryjunkie #bujonewbie https://www.instagram.com/p/CD3cPyCg-8Y/?igshid=d37o4ilr5wc2

One of the reason I stuck on to my job is the opportunity to attend trainings that I would never have the chance to attend as a normal person.. Had the chance to attend a "creating creatives" webinar by Facebook today and learned a lot within the short 30-minutes session. Not so much on writing but in creating a creative ad which will be beneficial in the future.. *winks Better things are coming... Plans are approaching the execution stage.. So excited.. https://www.instagram.com/p/CDiO-oQgHPQ/?igshid=p7hdbtr7izhb

Stationery Collection 8 Pentel Fude Touch Brush Pen - Basic Colours As a super newbie in #bujo and #brushlettering I really recommend this #brushpen because it's easy to control and it has a lot of vibrant colours to play with... My first pen was the Yellow Ochre which I find is a very unique colour, yellow with some vintage-y feel to it. After using it and finding it smooth and easy to control despite my lettering is still terrible, I quickly ordered black, grey and brown. Some earthy tones for a more down to earth style of journaling. Then, I realise I need more colours.. If I can't make it pretty with my writing I could at least fill it with colours.. So, I bought the basic RGB (red, green, blue) and yellow.. I am still practicing and hopefully my writing will look nicer when I show my 2nd batch of pastel fude touch.. #stationeryfreak #stationeryjunkie #stationeryhoarder #stationerylove #stationerylove #stationeryaddict #pentel #pentelfudetouch #fudetouchbrushpen https://www.instagram.com/p/CCK3OpWAQRn/?igshid=b5zu40nis1ml

As I stepped into the 2nd year of doing this, I thought this was my chance. I have made so many changes from an empty lot to a space of knowledge but who knew that the second year would start with an unwarned halt from an uncontrollable pandemic. All was paused for 3 months and maybe more. All I wish was for everything to go back to how it used to be and my plans could carry on the way it should be but like the phrase is Chinese say 人算不如天算 (men proposes, god disposes). It was definitely rough, And I suddenly realised that I can actually stay up further into the night than I thought I could.. I guess I took things for granted and never thought far enough so this is a sign saying that things will never come easy.. I really hope that it could last further than signed and bring me the fulfillment and satisfaction I have been feeling all along to a larger extent.. Maybe it's a good thing to be thrown with challenges.. So that I could grow here instead of feeling stuck elsewhere.. https://www.instagram.com/p/CB_LxYigeVv/?igshid=370m42mqai87

Life of a Slashie... When work itself is not fulfilling enough, you find something else that could fulfil. It's all about increasing one's value to be exposed to various opportunities outside your cubicle. Time to create some content.. https://www.instagram.com/p/CB3C7rZAsQv/?igshid=tpcgn9705aso

Stationery Collection 7 Tombow Dual Brush Pen @tombowmy These are highly raved in the journaling community. It seems that everyone will have a Tombow with them. It comes with so many colours that it's torture to choose for a hoarder like me... But, I managed to pick out a few colours to add to my collection. I still can't do lettering or calligraphy nicely but having a few standing in my pen storage rack fulfill the #stationeryaddict in me.. Just in case you didn't swipe to see the swatches. From left jet blue, lemon lime, cool grey, mauve, jade green, warm grey. I actually bought black too but it was out of stock.. oh well.. #tombowdualbrushpens #stationerylove #stationeryhoarder #stationeryfreak #stationeryjunkie #tombow #brushpen https://www.instagram.com/p/CBiJXmZAqpT/?igshid=1p0pkzokj3tvt
