As UPS provides management, monitoring and automatically turn off away connected devices, all Smart-UPS models contain at least a serial data interface (RS-232 or the USB), and most models also have at least one extension Smart-Slot port, and a larger (and older in many cases) APC Smart-UPS Models support two smart slots. The add-in card installed into the intelligent slot UPS will provide additional functionality beyond the default serial data interface.Early smart card slot, such as AP9605, provides SNMP functionality and Telnet access.
