wait i followed this blog in some archaic year like 2019 & i haven't been on tumblr since. your writing is so cool literally hiii

oh my god so you were here when i was 17 😭💀 that’s wild!! its been a looooong time. i need to get back into writing regularly but. life gets in the way.

general life updates for you all, i’m getting married in one week to a girl that i’ve been writing absolutely insane lovesick poems about since around 2019! I also co-manage an animal rescue which takes up most of my free time so I don’t get to write as much as I used to

but i’ve been reading a lot more lately which has been great. hopefully the writing will come back soon ❤️

[okay, stagelights. a dream. small bed. blue sheets. / & bring in the orchestra. play something with strings. / fingertips run from my shoulder to my wrist. / pause for two beats. watch the light shift. / hands push up my shirt. find the side of my neck / someone parts my legs like cutting clay / finds their way inside me. the shrieking of horsehair / the stage falls away. the bed falls away. / the orchestra, still, plays / wood splinters. i am naked on a dias / there is no blood underneath my fingernails / nothing else is there at all]

congratulations<3 hope it all goes well and much blessings. i hope it isn't rude to ask how you feel about getting married young:) would love to hear about it as im 22 and i've been thinking about it but im scared of the harsh criticism from people..

I haven’t really gotten any criticism about it!

Do what feels right. As long as you and your partner are on the same page as far as expectations and what marriage means, go for it.

Joy & I had decided to live together for a year before getting married just to confirm that it worked for us. And living together has been better than we imagined! She is much more of an introvert than me and needs a lot of alone time, so we got separate bedrooms. I remember asking her how often she thought we’d sleep in the same bed and she said maybe 1-2x a week. I was like “oh, ok” but on the verge of tears about it lol because I am very snuggly and clingy. She sleeps separately from me maybe 2-3x a Month LOL and when she does it doesn’t upset me like I worried it would. It just feels perfect. I wake up every morning and I see her back and I feel like I’m exactly where I should be.

If you feel safe, loved, and equal in your relationship and you’re both on the same page as far as commitment and what marriage means and what it will look like- why not? You don’t even have to get legally married- you can just have a wedding and wear rings if you’re concerned about legally tying yourselves together. Or the opposite. You can just go to the courthouse and get it done and move on. Or whatever feels good to you. We’re having a very small private ceremony and then a super chill larger reception at a pizzeria. Then the besties are coming over to drink at our house. We are scheduling a foursome for the week of our wedding. You can literally just do whatever you want.

At the end of the day, your relationship is going to be exactly the same after your wedding. It isn’t going to change anything day to day. If that sounds like a good thing to you, then go for it!
