nico di angelo would care about politics btw. if that wasn’t obvious. he lived through the rise of one dictator he refuses to live through another. he is quite literally an immigrant

the unholy trinity of piss-poor caretakers, tag yourself:
tomboy, meaning "this child is clearly queer but let's hope it goes away"
sensitive, meaning "clearly neurodivergent and often distressed but let's keep going until they grow numb"
mature, meaning "traumatized but let's ignore that"

I think it's more tragic that Jason knew Leo was alive, actually.
Jason's ecstatic! His best friend, his Person, the one he would choose over and over again. And he's alive. Leo is alive. It hits him like a truck, like the best truck in the world, that he'll get to see Leo again. Get to hug him again and tease him again and make him promise to never ever pull that shit again. The sheer joy of it shoots through him like the electricity which shorts all the power in his room when he finds out.
Except. Except it's too late. He knows it as he faces Caligula, knows they've just missed each other. He'll go to the Underworld alone. He'll never be reunited with curly hair and mischievous grins and tapping fingers. He feels like screaming at the unfair irony of it all. But he doesn't. He's Jason Grace. He does his duty. His last request is that Apollo doesn't forget, doesn't miss his chance or take it for granted. His last image is his best friend, reaching out. Jason knows he's not there though. He never will be.

"oh why don't pjo fans know that Apollo told Jason Leo was alive" probably because most pjo fans refuse to read ToA and actually only nitpick what they want to assume is canon. they'll bitch over Jason's death but refuse to acknowledge Lavinia, or Shelper, or crest, or Lester's growth, or megs trauma, or any of the actual things that stick out when you read the series!

Jason would be the world's most lenient dad. He's really scared of ending up like his dad, so he basically dotes on his kids and never yells at them

People STILL acting like Leo and Frank are sworn enemies as if they didn't become good friends after their initial rivalry, as if Leo didn't make a fireproof pouch for Frank, as if Frank didn't sob his eyes out when Leo told him and Hazel about his plan to sacrifice himself, upsets me 😔
(i understand a lot of people are joking, but i worry that many do believe they still have it out for each other 💔)
ALSO NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE TALK ABOUT HOW THEY BONDED OVER THEIR LATE MOTHERS please that scene is so sweet and I get emotional when I think about it

The urge to give Percy and Annabeth chronic wrist pain from holding up the sky.
The urge to give Percy Annabeth, Will and Nico some sort of breathing/lung problem from Tartarus.
The urge to give Jason and Percy memory problems.
The urge to give Piper, Jason and Leo issues telling the difference between dream and memory and shit.
I get they're half literal greek god and magic and all that shit but they're also half human let me give them various health issues pls

Imagine if a zombie apocalypse happened and nobody cared. It didn't really effect wealthier areas because guards would shoot them down. There's some paranoia that zombies would overrun humans but society never really breaks down.
You'd hear about infested areas out in the rust belt, where entire towns were overtaken by the undead. And mabye you'd see a zombie or two when you're in a really bad neighborhood and you have to cross the street. Most undead are harmless outside of large groups, but it's always good to stay safe.
And if you go to an area that's completely overun things really will look like the apocalypse. And there's something exciting about that. Society is interested in those ghost towns, not as a tragedy, but as a spectacle. You've seen reality TV where people will head into the worst of the outbreak with nothing more then a knife and a camera, all while the locals look on wishing someone could take them back.
Most people don't think about zombies. They're just another thing in the world that sucks right now. Occasionally there's a reminder of them, but eventually you forget why anyone is even afraid at all. It seems so normal.
One of your coworkers was attacked the other day by a zombie. Nobody really knew her well. The main thing people were talking about at the office when it comes to her is how lucky she is the be in the hospital having her wounds treated and disinfected, instead of stuck at work. Someone as young as her is expected to be able to fight one off, mabye she did it on purpose. Nobody was still making jokes when they realized she died, people aren't supposed to die that way if they're rich enough to work in an office.
The apocalypse isn't enough to end society. Society is meant to be more resilient then reality, that's the point.

Second time writing this out bc it didn't send! Anyway here's the lore dump :P
Okay so, Achilles is the child of demeter. Him and his brother, Max, were given to their dad when he was really young. He tried to raise them for a bit but couldn't. So he gave them up. They went through a lot of foster homes and stuff (think Leo type homes). At this point, Achilles completely lost all memory of her dad. But now they've taken it on themselves to raise and protect Max as well as any other foster kids that need it. At some point, Achilles and Max went to camp. But it was like a summer thing till a friend convinced them to go full year. Originally they didn't want to do that because she still felt responsible for the foster kids over her own safety. When in camp, resentment against his mom for not protecting them grew. So when Kronos offered her a way to make it right they took it in a heartbeat. They had to leave Max but he'd be safe here right? One battle, Achilles managed to injure their leg. He "walked it off" but that just messed up their leg even worse. Even though their leg constantly hurts, she still refuses to use their aid till they are forced. During another battle, Max ran up to Achilles to try to convince him to come home. They had to pretend to fight each other because they were on opposite sides. While they were fighting, Kronos did his whole time bending thing. Giving Achilles no time to think about what she was doing and giving Max no time to get out of the way. Achilles had killed his own brother. That was her turning point. She deserted Kronos' army. (They had managed to convince one of their one best friends to run as well but not the other). In camp, he struggled to earn people's trust again. Even their own half siblings. They did everything to earn their trust back. Although the guilt was consuming him anyway. Eventually after people started to trust her again, she got a boyfriend, Paris. One night, Achilles found something just outside the walls of camp. They dragged Paris outside, when a monster went to attack Achilles, Paris jumped in to fight it. Paris ended up dying in that attack.
