You should take your f/o to the place you grew up.

If not the home, the area. Maybe it will hurt, maybe it will heal, maybe it will be wonderful. You'd show them the places you remember well, the little spots on the roads or sidewalks where memories took root. You'd lead them up the dirt piles left by home development, through the woods and trails you played pretend in, the places you tripped and fell, or learned to tie flowers together. You'd take them to the places where the stores you went to so often, revisit the memories, and go in if they aren't closed or abandoned.

You'd smell that specific scent from a specific corner of the street you grew up on that you could never find the source of, maybe you solve that mystery together. You would show them where you went when you needed to get away, show so many parts of yourself that made you who you are today.

Regardless of what you came back to accomplish, you both leave with a deeper understanding of your roots. You know that they know, that they've seen it too.

You know that they love you for where you came from, that they'd protect you from it evermore or make sure you can go back and make more memories.

imagine how your f/o must've felt when they were falling for you. how everytime they'd see you their heartbeat would quicken.

imagine how when they were alone their thoughts would drift towards you. they'd be doing some menial task and find themselves thinking about you. how they'd wonder why, how they'd tell themselves to stop thinking and focus on their work.

imagine them seeing something and think "oh, (s/i) would like this." and then them trying to talk themselves out of buying it for you because "what if they think I'm weird? they may not even like me."

and imagine how it would feel the first time they finally work up the courage to gift you something. maybe you can tell they're flustered? or, maybe you can't, because your own heart is absolutely pounding out of your chest, distracting you from what they may be saying to you.

of course, you're ecstatic, but think of how they felt. how relieved they are, how excited they are that you accepted their gift. and they go home, and it's the only thing they think about all night.

and then what about you? I'm sure you feel the same way. and you're sat up wondering if they're in love with you, or maybe you're just overthinking it, because they can't possibly be in love with you, fight? oh, but what if?

Having these issues doesn't mean you're hard to love or that you're a burden to your f/o. That's what they're here for. They want you and every piece of you, even if you think its too much to handle. They love you, and they will remind you everyday if that's what you need.

Using our f/os to punish ourselves or inflict emotional self harm is a hard habit to break and it may feel like its deserved, but its not. Your f/o doesn't want that. They want to be a light in the dark for you. Please remember when your brain is being cruel to you, your f/o wouldn't say or do those things.

hey guys, as yall know, my best friends dad recently passed away. they have asked me to move in with them in order to keep things running smoothly and keeping things afloat as they plan their dad’s funeral & process their grief. i live in new york & they live in nc which is a good 13 hour drive away. needless to say, this move wont be very cheap. because of this, my commissions are fully opened for the foreseeable future. ill even do doodle pages for $10 if it brings it enough cash! i also have a ko-fi in case anyone would like to donate 👉🏼👈🏼
