i think the worst thing about the whole “anti-woke” culture is how it’s not only dumbing down people (folks are literally forgetting pronouns are an actual word class, an inseperable part of grammar and everyday speech) but also praising meanness and insensibility above all. it has managed to make malice and unkindness synonymous with factfulness and reason as if intelligence didn’t stem from emotions. as if feelings weren’t the very core of human beings. as if knowledge wasn’t achieved through passion, sympathy, and open-mindedness. as if the whole crux of this entire anti-wokeness movement wasn’t rooted in pure unadulterated emotion of hatred and hostility.

It's insane how casually the calls to end a genocide, not just the students in Columbia University but pro Palestinian views in general, are labelled as terrorists. The audacity to still publicly support Israel's actions even after the horrific bombings these last months and then turn around to say that the ones who oppose it are violent anti semites is just baffling

"Collins, who will stop at nothing, is an expert shot." Damn there's no need to make him sound cooler and sexier than he already was.

im noticing that for a lot of americans “free palestine” has been an ideological motto and symbol rather than them actually believing in their heart that freedom is attainable and necessary

i don’t know how to tell people that deriving pleasure - sexual pleasure included! - from art* is good actually, and that creating specific kind of art “just” because you find it hot or whatever is just as good a reason as any, and you don’t actually need some “deep and meaningful” reason to create art about things. pleasure - sexual pleasure included - is not the devil, it is not Bad and shameful, and it’s not any less valid of a reason to create something than because you want to, idk, explore the depths of the human consciousness or something
* art here includes writing

"Let your anger be gone by sunset"
"Turn the other cheek"
"Forgive as God forgave you"
These are all extremely convenient for whoever has authority and that's why abusers use them religiously--pun not intended

I can't stand religious people anymore, like damn go yap about your own sins and leave mine alone. It's YOUR religion for a reason, I couldn't care less about your fucking faith, I don't believe in that, and if you think that's a red flag or smth just go away, I probably don't like you already.

Remarkable how saying that everyone deserves a living wage so they can adequately support themselves is so controversial, especially among other blue collar, working class people. Deepthroating the capitalist boot and infighting won't win you anything.

To the guy in my English class who judged me for having a crush on “the guy who played Atticus Finch”. I just wanna say. Gregory Peck is handsome as fuck.

I am sorry to everyone who tagged me in some tag game and I never responded. I saw it and thought “aww they thought of me” and proceeded to forget about it right after
