so i just found out about movers_covers1 on instagram fan project, "The Great Switch and Escape" and I'm already so hyped about it.

This is based on a moment in this scene, where Scott says he and Dave dress up as Rich and Smitty. Basically, Rich and Smitty get stuck in a room and have to escape, and I think there's reporters wanting to interview the Movers? I don't know much yet but it's already so interesting I'm so invested lol.

Scott is wearing a wig. IDK if they were recognizable so I just labelled them anyway lol.

thinking about how to a stranger, Mover Rich is this cool suave perfect 10/10 flawless person. Meanwhile to his friends and closest people, though he is still talented and skillful and charming, he has quite a number of flaws that are probably already obvious to them.

I don't remember if I've talked about it before but I'm talking about it anyway hahah. The text got longer than intended.

In Tooth Fairy, he said he used to be really clumsy. Now, he might not be tripping over his own foot or anything but he's still a bit careless I think. like how he got his foot stuck in a bucket lol.

He's careless in a sense that he's sort of messy (?), in a way? He got a lot of Dave's Super Goop on his hands that I personally think that's the reason he got stuck to Smitty. even tho Smitty did also have some on his hand, it's also kinda because Rich was letting too much of the glue drip out.

There are some things that just slip his mind, like i think it was in Walkaway Walkie episode maybe, that Scott saw socks in the refrigerator and when asked, Rich answered with the reason, but only after seeing the other guys give him weird looks he realized that was gross lol. Unlike in Super Goop when Scott put his shoe in the freezer, he had the decency to put it in a plastic bag (why did Rich ask if Scott was gonna eat the gum tho, what the heck man lmao).

Another example is in Award to The Wise episode, when Rich forgets his own trophy which was in Dave's hat, that Rich himself asked to keep there. In Super Goop he also misplaced his keys, and the way he says it implies he's lost it for quite some time. There's probably other examples like in the unicorn episode when he blew dust to Scott and more stuff I can't remember lol.

It's not like, solely Rich's traits because the other Movers can be clumsy and silly too, but I just feel with him it's a bigger contrast to his surface (?) personality. Rich is seen as the cool one (he is) while Scott is characterised as the "uncool" one (he is also cool), but they both have quite some similarities and parallels in their characters. But I think it's just that Rich knows how to save face lol.

Another similarity might be their tendency to hide things they did wrong. Like in "It's a Breeze" episode, Scott didn't admit immediately that he left the door open. And I forgot which episode this was, Rich was giving a pep talk to the Movers, and mentioned he played with Dave's invention that ruined Smitty's football, and seemingly never told Smitty or anyone about it until that time. I don't remember if there are other times, it's just cuz I think Dave and Smitty don't really do this (but i might have missed any detail). Just kinda interesting to compare them, because at quick glance you wouldn't think they're that similar.

Also he's easily spooked and afraid, but sometimes tries to cover this fact and act cool lol. And gets very excited for his interests (sports), but this applies to all the Movers lol. they're fanboys and get excited for their interests (Smitty with nature/space, Dave with his inventions, Scott with burros, etc.)

If I could try explaining what I think his personality was when he was younger, way before being a Mover, I imagine he's a bit like Sully from Monsters Inc, specifically in the Monsters University film.

He's a beloved well-known popular person who's really good at what he does, maybe a bit arrogant sometimes, but is just hiding his insecurities. He's gotten way better now of course.
