working with little kids is so dangerous. you get one kid who has a unique way of speaking & then spend the rest of your life with an internal monologue like “me’s go bathroom?”

I'm never looking at the newest comments on an Alessandro Moreschi recording ever again because of course some bigots would try to compare Castratos to trans people

Y'know, for a group that hates feminists so much and apparently has no use for the movement, trad wives sure are obsessed with constantly making posts bashing feminism when there was no reason to mention the movement at all. Like girl, shut the fuck up and make your stupid ass posts about baking bread, being a brood mare for some mid man and your barely disguised submission fetish without bringing feminism into it.

I'll never understand all the girls that want to be stay at home girlfriends/wifes/moms like I hate working but i would still rather have a job i hate instead of rely on a husband for money. Like maybe it's just me growing up with a single mom but I learned early on that having a job + your own money = independence. Like it makes me so worried seeing jokes like "women don't need rights I just need a rich man" like bruh your problem is with capitalism not women's rights as a whole.
Like I want all these girls to sit down with the women in their families that were actually stay at home wives & talk about the real shit that happens. Like it's not yoga in the morning & green juice, it's taking care of kids, cleaning a house, & doing all of that for free

this might sound stupid but I can’t help but believe that the new wave of “birth control is actually horrible for your body, you need to get off it immediately” misinformation from influencers and the ‘natural cycle tracking’ apps suddenly being advertised is a sneaky underhanded way of causing more unplanned pregnancies that people now cannot abort. now is possibly the worst time ever to turn towards ‘natural family planning’

This push for women to be strictly celibate in order to avoid men is giving "conservative Christian abstinence only sex education" and doesn't seem to be that effective of a solution long term. If one so chooses that path then so be it, they should be allowed to do that, but pushing celibacy without teaching safe sex and encouraging people to have a healthy relationship with their own sexuality seems counter productive; you're just teaching women to be sexually repressed. Celibacy is a small bandaid being put on a festering wound that is patriachy and the misogyny that's built into it.
I think giving women the tools to make educated choices for themselves is a much better alternative then simply shaming them out of wanting companionship and sex. A lot of this talk about women being celibate almost always spirals into treating women who DO have sex with men and are sexual towards them as inferior and unclean which is ironically centring men and upholding patriarchal values.

Absolutely love watching the evolution of a “cringe content” YouTuber (as in, someone who does “commentary” on “cringe”) go from shitting on gen z to shitting on gen a.
All the comments are the same. Always. “As a part of this generation, I’m sorry for what we’ve done,” “as someone who is gen _, we do not claim them,” “as someone who is (age), I’m sorry for what we have done”
STOP. STOP IT RIGHT NOW. DON’T BE SORRY JUST BECAUSE OF YOUR AGE. DON’T LET PEOPLE CONVINCE YOU THAT YOU’RE WORTH LESS BECAUSE OF WHEN YOU WERE BORN. YOU’RE BEING INDOCTRINATED. AND IT WILL NOT END IF YOU PARTAKE IN IT.
Why does it never end. Why does nobody ever learn that your age is not always an indicator of who you are as a person. Why is it so normal to beat down on literal children. What did they ever do wrong

Hi! I was wondering if you had any advice about lying, specifically about being religious or when being confronted about being nonreligious/acting nonreligious? I'm just not a good liar at all, and will be in an unavoidable environment where i can't take the chances of being outed as athiest.
I tend to keep to myself anyhow, so I'm not sure if this advice will be any good for you, but one thing that's helping me out personally with still having to be involved with religion is taking part in something that makes it more palatable.
I find that I can stomach going to church if I volunteer to do something so I can avoid the standard church service.
Otherwise, I suggest you keep to yourself. And you will have to practice masking. Just seem engaged enough that no one will bat an eye. Because how I deal with being confronted about my faith is making it so that I never have it questioned.
Basically, the best advice I have to offer is... learning how to lie.
But if anyone else has advice, feel free to share it for anon. Because I feel like with the kind of personality I have, it's been easy for me to adapt.

Ok, loves, so we've all got the message that joking about suicide is bad for your mental health. Now we need to get on "joking that the planet/all of humanity has no future" is bad for societal health/encouraging resistance to bad shit."

Want to do something to help stop the tradwife pipeline btw? Include mothers in your feminism. Hold space for women and others who are experiencing pregnancy or motherhood. Listen to their concerns about and unique perspectives on things like universal childcare, bodily autonomy, healthcare. Hold men who disrespect, sexualize, fetishize, shame or harass pregnant women and mothers accountable. Advocate for the right to nurse in public. Advocate for bodily autonomy within the healthcare field. Listen to women and birthing parents who have birth trauma. Listen to women who have undergone things like “the husband stitch”, or medically unnecessary c-sections, or who were given drugs without consent by doctors and nurses violating their birth plan. Advocate for resources to promote an end to the high rates of maternal mortality in the US. Get to know a woman who has children. Get to know the person she is. Know about her likes and interests and hobbies. Unlearn the stigma in your head which makes you see pregnant women as “ruined” or “tainted” and mothers as devoid of individual personhood.

uh I just discovered the terms "blue chore" and "pink chore"
why oh why are people still gendering random activities. using a hammer is not a men only thing and brushing your hair isn't "just girly things" activities are just activities
I hate this feminism retrograde that's happening right now especially with younger people. like, I'm sure this chore thing started as a tiktok joke trend or something but I beg of yall especially young girls, to pay attention to things and think critically and see how dangerous this stuff is. we are living in super fascist times and conservatism is rising more and more with trad wifery and what not we can't keep moving backwards.

Look, I don't take cheating lightly but I will still side with one over the crazy fucking person trying to kill not only her but their children as well.
One of these things is significantly worse than the other, and that's only if the husband doesn't turn out to be an unreliable narrator.
I believe he is since he has admitted to wanting to kill the toddlers as well, but when put on blast for it, he suddenly claimed to be unaware of them being in the car he ran into.
For context, this is a Trinidadian thing that happened recently. A woman and her two toddlers were almost killed by her husband after she supposedly cheated on him with one of his friends. She and the children did survive but ended up injured. As far as I'm aware, she's now in hiding, and her husband is on the run while still actively trying to hunt her down. He attempted this by driving full speed and running into her car.
I'm talking about this because the way a neighbor reacted to this really puts into perspective why women in Trinidad and other parts of the world end up in danger.
That neighbor, who is a woman herself, says that she understands why he is behaving the way he is. That alone rubs me the wrong way.
Because if it were the other way around and she was the one trying to kill him and the kids, more people would undeniably agree that she's fucking crazy.
But for some reason, not only do people try to understand men's crimes of passion but even romanticize it.
People tend to think that if women were to behave correctly, they'd be free from harm. But we have seen time and time again that this isn't the case. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't type of thing.
But the foundation is the same. Internalized misogyny makes people believe that women deserve to be punished for not playing her role as a partner right or not giving a guy a chance.
At the same time, men aren't punished nearly as harshly for the same things, if at all.
It's going to take a long ass time for my country to move in a more progressive direction, I think. Contrary to what they claim, I don't think neither the PNM or UNC are remotely left in the slightest.
I used to think that the PNM was the more left of the two since their administration was the one who decriminalized queer relationships between consenting adults. But it was criminalized again this year using colonial laws, and they didn't do anything to fight it.

I love it when Conclave said oh so the church is able to break with tradition when it comes to iphones, vapes, rolling suitcases, and steel-fortified window coverings, but not when it comes to feminism, pluralism, and the nuances of sex and gender. How interesting. Anyway, here is a remarkably sad old man.

Potentially hot take but one of the reasons we need art and music in schools is that, taught correctly, they are ideal avenues for teaching kids how to do something, kinda suck at it, keep going anyways and improve over time.
And THAT is one of the most valuable skill sets a human being can have. THAT is the skill set that unlocks soooooo many others.
A LOT of people I see with anxiety and depression do not have this skill set. To suck at something is a threat. Proof that they are doomed to suck at it forever. And then, often, that either THEY suck forever or the task must be stupid/useless/pointless (whence we get AI art fans who have decided actually making art is pointless and degrading the labor and skills of others is fine because these are useless skills).
Or you get the freeze- the inability to try things in case you fail. The sudden lancing shame and humiliation or hopelessness. The sense that anything you haven't learned by now you can't learn. Which is so heartbreaking and so untrue.
I just hate it.
"What if I write it and it's bad" "what if I draw it and it's bad" "what if I play it and it sounds bad" DOING IT BAD IS HOW YOU LEARN TO DO IT GOOD! You can't skip the process of leaning and the process is FUN if you let it be what it needs to be!
