I Need Her (f.w.)

Summary: You help steal back a magical item for your classmate that Umbridge took and the Weasley twins, especially Fred, need you.

AN: if you don’t stan the weasley twins we can’t be friends lol i’d definitely be the slytherin who falls in love with a weasley 😂

It was past curfew one night and your Slytherin friend was rage crying over the fact that Umbridge had confiscated a magical item from her that her mother had gifted her.

“I don’t understand why she can just take our things! I’m not the Weasleys with their stupid joke stuff! It’s a family heirloom!” She yelled at you. “I can get it back for you.” You said. “How? It’s locked away in her office.” Your friend asked. “Easy. She’s asleep and I bet I could get past any charm she put on her office. After all, I am the best at charms.” You explained.

She looked at you for a moment, skeptical that you could actually do it. But then she thought back to a time in third year when you somehow managed to trick Snape into thinking you finished your potions essay when you really just charmed the paper.

“Make sure the common room door is open.” You told her, standing up from the couch. “How will I know you’re coming?” She asked. “Oh you’ll know. You’ll see me running.” You joked.

She rolled your eyes at you before watching you disappear from the common room. You made your way down the dark corridor towards Umbridge’s office.

As you were walking, you heard footsteps behind you. And when you stopped walking, the footsteps did too. And it kept going like that until you turned around.

“Is there a reason you’re following me, Weasleys?” You asked the two tall red-headed twins who were stood behind you. “You seemed to be on a mission. We wanted to know what it was.” George answered. “It’s rare to see a Slytherin on a mission.” Fred added. “If the two of you must know,” You started, rolling your eyes. “The bane of this school’s existence took something from a friend of mine. I’m going to get it back.” You explained.

“You are going to break into Umbridge’s office?” Fred asked in disbelief. “Sound so surprising?” You questioned. “I thought you were apart of the Inquisitorial Squad.” George said. “Because I’m a Slytherin?” You countered.

The two twins stammered, not really knowing how to say ‘yes’ in a polite way. They were stopped by the sound of Filch walking down the corridor. “Catch you later boys.” You winked at Fred before taking off around the corner.

Fred and George rounded the corner and watched you effortlessly bypass the charm that Umbridge put on her office. To say the twins were impressed was an understatement. They were blown away how you were able to do that.

Once you were inside, they turned around, their backs facing the door.

“Oh, she’s good.” George commented. “I need her.” Fred added. “You’ve needed her since second year, mate.” George laughed. “She doesn’t even know which twin I am.” Fred said. “You’re Fred. I wouldn’t have winked at George.” Your voice rang, startling them.

The two twins jumped at the sound of your voice and turned around to see you with the object you were after in your hand.

“How did you do that so quickly?” George asked. “Walk with me. I’ll explain my devious ways to you both.” You told them. Fred and George exchanged a glance, Fred jumping at the opportunity to talk to you for a while longer.

“Obviously, Umbridge put an Anti-Alohomora to counteract trying to unlock the door that way. Only an amateur would use Alohomora. She has a Caterwauling charm on the door as well, that was quite easy to bypass with a counter charm. Then I bypassed the Cave Inimicum because I’m a Slytherin and she thinks I’m on her side, therefore I’m not her enemy.” You explained, looping your arms through George and Fred’s.

“Marry me.” Fred said in complete awe. George smacked the back of his brother’s head as you just giggled to yourself. “At least take me on a date first, Weasley.” You teased.

The three of you approached the stairs leading to the Slytherin common room and you let go of the twins.

“This is my stop.” You started. You noticed George shove Fred towards you before seemingly giving the two of you some privacy. “I-I know this is forward since you probably had no idea who I was before tonight but do you maybe want to go to Hogsmeade with me? Like on a date?” Fred questioned, clearing his throat.

“Two things; one, of course I knew who Fred Weasley was before tonight. I’ve had a massive crush on you since our second year. And two, I would love to.” You answered. “Wait, really?” He asked. “Yes, really.” You laughed.

Fred blushed furiously as he tried to avoid making direct eye contact with you. “Meet you here tomorrow at 7?” You asked. “Yes, yes. Absolutely.” He said, a little too enthusiastically. His reaction made you laugh again as you met his gaze.

“You’re so cute.” You commented. “I’ll see you tomorrow, Fred.” You added, walking down the stairs towards the open door. Fred smiled like a kid in a candy store as he watched you walk away.

“Well it’s about bloody time.” George announced. “I have a date with Y/F/N Y/L/N. And she said my name. ” Fred said. “Yes, yes you do. And she did. Now let’s go before Filch catches us.” George said, dragging his twin away from your common room.

You reentered the Sytherin common room and to find your friend waiting for you. “You sneak out, break into that cow’s office and get yourself a date with Fred Weasley. Is there anything you can’t do?” She asked you, as you tossed her the object you retrieved.

“I can’t put my whole fist in my mouth.” You joked. Your friend laughed at you before you retreated back to your dorm.

And all you could think about that night was how excited you were to finally go on a date with Fred.
