SJM has spoken about how music inspires her writing and in all of her series we’ve seen her love for it extend to her characters as well. We saw it with Aelin, Bryce, Nesta and now with both Gwyn and Azriel.

Some of my favorite lines SJM has written are where she uses music as a metaphor for love:

hyperbeams aside, they work directly under helion (tending to his pegasi, helping arrange and prepare for all his travels, etc.)

in truth, they would have loved to become a high priest(ess) one day, but they don't qualify for the position on account of not being a high fae female
