Hi, sorry for basically no updates. We didn't get that many submissions and I have been really busy lately so thought I'd leave it open for a few more months to see if more people submit stuff

Tail: ends in 1/2 = spinnerets, ends in 3/4 = weird long thing like uraraneida/whip scorpions/palpigradi, ends in 5/6 = stinger like a scorpion or something, ends in 7/8/9/10 nothing

Idmonarachne is a small carboniferous arachnid, closely related to spiders. In this image it drinks water from a pool, with ferns and sphenophyllum plants.

When are submissions due? 1st of June, 2023.

How will the zine be accessed once it is completed? I'll post the images of each page on this blog, as well as a link to a pdf people can download then either keep digital or get printed at a stationary shop or something.

What size image do I send? The dimensions of each page are 2480 x 1754 pixels. The ideal size will depend on whether your art is oriented portrait, landscape or square.

What sorts of art are included? Digital art, physical mediums such as painting, photographs of 3d art such as sculptures, photography, writing under 300 words and mediums such as collage that combine these. Music about arachnids is interesting but not really practical to present in this format.

How many pieces can I submit? Maximum is 3.

What is the application process? There isn't an application process, as long as your arachnid art is within the guidelines described https://www.tumblr.com/arachnidartzine/708123109745672192?source=share (additionally, no content that is bigoted (including but not limited to writing offensive to marginalized groups, hate symbols) or nsfw is allowed. I assumed that would not come up with arachnids but just in case.)

Example of layout for the arachnid art zine. This is a landscape oriented A4 page, divided into 2 portrait oriented A5 pages (at 300dpi, 1754 x 2480 pixels. So the recommended dimensions are about that or slightly smaller). When sending in a piece please also add text for the title, name, and description.
