Another drawing in the year of our lord 2025???

Anyway I got a bonus from work so I decided to treat myself to an iPad Mini and try out Procreate to see what it’s like to draw something on a touchscreen instead of paper or a tablet connected to a laptop, and whipped up this sketch! Technically I have tried drawing on a touchscreen a couple years ago, but it was huge, so I couldn’t get the hang of it. I draw small, so I guess a smaller device made this time more comfortable for me.

Feels nostalgic to be drawing again since the last time I completed a fully colored thing was like three years ago, maybe I’ll try coloring this one properly 🤠

My big boy Smokey is gone 😭

He suddenly started developing a lump on his leg that grew big very quickly. His energy started going way down, he lost his appetite, could barely walk properly, and his vet suspected it could be cancer. The only way we could find out for sure was to do a biopsy, but because of the sheer size of the lump on his leg, that would require an amputation. And with his diabetes and other health issues that he’s already had since before the lump, being a senior cat and all, we really hesitated putting him through a radical surgery like that. If we did want to get the surgery done, we wouldn’t have been able to do it until April, and the lump was growing fast. Tonight it started to rupture, so we took him to the veterinary ER, and after weighing our options, we made the difficult decision to have him go in peace. My brothers accompanied me to his passing. We were petting him as he was sedated, and he purred in his last moments. His heart stopped about 30 seconds after the euthanasia solution was administered. I opted for a private cremation and picked out a pretty little urn with a plaque for him.

I first got him when he was a kitten. Picked him out of all his siblings when my family read about a litter of kittens being given away in the neighborhood, and he was the best choice I’ve ever made. He was 2 months old, and I was 14 years old. We grew up together and it was rough watching him grow old while my life is still just starting. I gave him many belly scratches throughout the years, and he gave me many cuddles in return.

I hope I’ll find him again once it’s my time to go ❤️
