So, I've been meaning to get this article rescanned for a while, as the original had no footnotes. Problem...I apparently loaned my copy of the book to someone, who never returned it. So I no longer have the book.

Decided to see if our uni library had one that I could check out to photocopy the article...and they had it ONLINE. Whoo! That means I now have a nice SHINY newly downloaded PDF with notes this time.

After "The Mourning of Alexander," this is probably one of the more significant articles I've written, and despite the collection and the introduction, it really is mostly about Hephaistion's career. Which is why I got so torqued at the Stone flick. It didn't show Hephaistion's CAREER importance.

I put this up with the caveat that I do (really, eventually) plan to write that court study focusing on Hephaistion and Krateros. And I will almost certainly introduce changes to things I wrote in here, when I do. But for now, it remains my assessment of Hephaistion's importance to Alexander's campaign, not his bed-chamber.
