@sassygaysatan That is a fair point, however, may I just point out that Nix Hydra made $100k in May alone? Also, I didn't mean to flame the artists and writers, I meant to point the aggression to the company heads or whoever decides on money management.
Someone has to say it.
While the new coin update is appreciated, it's absolute bullshit it took this long to install.
I mean, are you kidding me? This game has been out for what, about 2-3 years now and you mean to tell me only NOW the devs decide to update the coin system so that you can actually have a chance at unlocking books at an efficient pace without paying? And right after the coin sale they did in the shop? What the fuck!? God, I love this game but the way the devs deal with that is so, so low. It comes off as extremely scummy and money laundering, which I would personally understand if not for the fact that they are a COMPANY. If this was a small indie team, I would completely understand the need for money. But the fact that mobile games are, arguably, one of the most profitable industries to date due to the astonishing amount of money they make on advertisements is an all telling reason why the coin system was such bullshit before. Plus the fact that, at the end of the day, this is just a visual novel made in Unity. It's not that complicated coding wise, there are literally two endings in each route with the options as tallies, each option you choose a tally in either the reversed ending or the upright ending. I've seen a team of 3 people make a more complicated dating sim with about 10 endings for different characters using Ren'Py, a much older system. And I get it, writing and art is expensive but again, they are a company and they already have established enough to where paid choices are unnecessary. I would have rather just bought the game in its entirety than to have spent months, literal MONTHS, farming enough coins just for Lucio's route. Only one route! And sometimes it wasn't even worth buying the book, as it was literally just one paid choice in the entirety of the book and chapter. God it's just, it's so frustrating, especially considering I have a friend whose been into this game a lot longer, (about a year or 2 I'm sure?) than I have and she still has yet to unlock everything. It's just a bunch of bullshit man, and it sucks because the game is so good.
Anyways, end of rant, thanks for listening and as always, sorry if I come of as an asshole, I'm just being honest about my opinions.

@alchimistadivezuvia No it's not? I'd have to argue that it's extremely in character. Especially since it takes him so long to actually fully comprehend his mistakes and start learning from them to become a better person. It's not an immediate thing, and even the MC acknowledges it throughout the route that Lucio is struggling to change. There are multiple points where you can see Lucio reverting back to his old ways and MC has to call him out on it or else he will not change. If anything, Muriel's route is where Lucio is most out of character. You mean to tell me that Lucio, the master of running away from his deals and absolutely refusing to take responsibility, would suddenly be like, "You know what? I'm going to fulfill my deals and take responsibility for my actions" and then actually go through with it? Also, I would appreciate if you would stop being so condescending in your replies. You're coming off as extremely rude.
Muriel's route is OOC for Lucio.
You cannot tell me this dumbass of a man would not try to bring his dogs along with him in his conquest, I will die on this hill I swear.

@alchimistadivezuvia ...just because he was treated better doesn't mean he realized he was loved. And what does that even have to do with what we were discussing?

@alchimistadivezuvia I don't think he's just a himbo, and you should relook into his other routes, because he isn't a sociopath/psychopath. He's a survivalist. Sociopaths have a hard time feeling things and empathizing with people, Lucio sure as hell feels things and while it may seem like he doesn't care about people, if you play through his route you'll see that he does. Psychopaths manipulate and abuse to gain their way. At first glance, that may seem to be that way for Lucio. But when you look deeper into his character, you realize that he genuinely does not realize that some of his actions have consequences. And he regrets his actions. Psychopaths do not regret their actions at all. He's not a himbo, I know, but he's certainly not a socio/psychopath. If you played through his route you would realize that. Also, another note, the other routes are from the other characters points of view. Of course they're going to paint Lucio in a negative light, nobody likes Lucio. Even Lucio knows nobody really cares about him, that's why he's so narcissistic.
Muriel's route is OOC for Lucio.

@blackwelshsheep Yes, how could I forget? The most important and damning connection between the two.
Dude...
Lucio reminds me a lot of Starscream. Yes, Transformers Starscream.
Think about it.
He wanted mass amounts of power without really thinking about the cost, and was even willing to kill his parents.
He's a survivalist, switching sides whenever the opposing side shows to be winning and is more than willing to screw over previous allies for his own benefit.
This is more related to Transformers Prime Stsrscream, but, LOOKIT 'EM FUCKIN' EYEBROWS.
He has a massive ego to hide his inferiority complex, and is seemingly a narcissist.
Again, more related to TFP Starscream, but both of them have sharp claws, and in Julian's route when he attacks MC, I could not help but imagine him stretching his clawed gauntlet just like Starscream does throughout the series.
You can't tell me the Devil and Megatron wouldn't talk about their traitorous and annoying second-in-commands.
He's a twunk. TFP Starscream is too, and no one can convince me otherwise.
But yeah! I had more, but I forgot, so oopsies, but this list had mostly TFP Starscream in mind. No wonder Lucio is my favorite, I was a massive Starscream fan too, lol. Anyways, Ciao!

@volleys-chan Thank you kindly for the advice! I've been doing the same, saving my coins that I get from ads and the dailies to buy books, I just wanted to complain a bit. But thank you!
Alright, I'm gonna say it.
Please stop saying, "oh, it's so easy to get coins, just use heart hunter!!"
Newsflash?
It really isn't.
I have been playing Arcana for the past 2 months. I have only unlocked 4 chests so far, one I opened because I had no idea that saving them gave us coins.
I get that it's easy to get coins AFTER you get every postcard, but holy hell it's hard to get the postcards in the first place! I'm sick and tired of seeing posts making it seem like it's all skill, when it's fucking not! It's all luck based. From the moment you click into the game and see who's in town today, it's complete chance to get the person you need to complete a chest set. The way the characters move? Complete chance. The number you get to move? Chance.
There this one post that encouraged players to always take a risk whenever it's the double or nothing. Today I've done that about, what, 7 times now?
I shit you not. I swear on my fucking yeezies that I always got the spade. I. Shit. You. Not. Maybe 4 or 5 times have I gotten the heart? And that wasn't even today! That was across multiple days!
And another thing, how the fuck were we supposed to know you can save the chests to get coins? I certainly didn't know until I looked it up, and as one poster said, a lot of people don't know. Unless I missed something while playing the tutorial, which I might have so please correct me, there is absolutely no indication that you can save up you chests to get the coins, and that's kinda shitty on the dev's part. But, it is understandable since they are running a business and need money. (Which I will rant about in a different post if my attention span doesn't get stolen by a raccoon again.)
And I get it, the people posting are probably just trying to be helpful, yada yada, but jesus fuck can you sound any more condescending in your post? I'm sorry if you don't mean to, but god, every time I read a heart hunter's post the person writing it makes me feel like an idiot for being upset that coins are hard to come by, like I'm fucking stupid that I didn't know you could save chests. And if that wasn't the poster's intention, I apologize, but that's how you come across.
Fuck, that feels good to get off my chest. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk, next I'll be posting about how Lucio has a mommy kink- (/j)
