Kagura smiled as she hugged her friend back. She was not used to Erza's sudden outbursts of affection but as she was generally rather new to this entire friendship-sister-thing, she did not mind as much as she would have a few months back.

"Fairy Tail will never change, I guess," she said. "B-but, what are you doing around? Did you come to visit Millianna in the guild?"

"And yes, well, I missed you as well ... sister."

Kagura smiled as she shrugged. "Mermaid Heel is generally well-organised - that's our master's work - and so we went right back to our daily order after the games. So, yes, I am fine."

"Secrets are usually very safe with me," she said with a friendly smile. "It is part of being an S-class mage not to run around and scream everything you know from the roofs ... I can understand that some things are difficult to say ... I don't know what happened between you and him but I am sure that one day, you can both think about everything and smile."

She was still a long way from being able to understand everything that had led to her brother's death, to the event that had made it impossible for her to see Simon again - only that it had, according to both Erza and the strange woman that had been part of the council years ago, not been Jellal to kill him even though this mage had been the one to use the spell that had killed Simon. This had left her without someone she could take her old wrath out on - especially since the woman who had taken the blame had disappeared during the battle.

"What brothers do..." she repeated as she closed her eyes for a moment. "That seems such a strange thing to say and yet, I can understand you ... some things are difficult to explain to someone who knows nothing about all of this."

"We did grow up together, yes. It’s strange, I’ve never really considered him my brother but now that you’ve said that it’s made me realise he is possibly my closest friend," Lyon shook his head and chuckled, “if he heard me saying any of this he’d punch me in the jaw. I can only hope this stays between us, Kagura."

Inner peace? What on earth could she mean by that? Whatever it was it made Lyon lapse into silence for a moment as he tossed the sentence around his mind, the ice mage had always thought he had inner peace, well, he was certainly more peaceful now than he was in his past. Maybe she wanted Gray and himself to stop bickering and become friends like Erza and herself did. The mere thought made him smile, after all, if he and Gray weren’t fighting - that meant they weren’t talking and as much as the guy annoyed him he’d rather have him in his life than distant.

"I appreciate your concern but I think in this particular situation you and I are quite different, I have found my ‘inner peace’, as you called it. I have no grudge against Gray and I hope he feels the same. I mean, we fight, but," he smiled at her, “that’s what brothers do."

Kagura smiled a nearly hidden smile as she waved at her red-haired friend. She was happy that she could now, so many years and misunderstandings later, consider Erza her friend - and not only that: the other S-class mage was like a sister to her.

"It has been a while," she greeted. "How's Fairy Tail doing?"
