Showing off and smiling like an idiot. You’d think by now. I would have known BETTER. The old me would have just SMILED and PLAYED nice little Katie. The old me would have PRETENDED everything was okay. I thought coming back to New York would make me feel LESS ALONE. Just like everyone else… I was wrong about that, too. People say you can always DEPEND on FAMILY. But, I think that’s a lie. I’m starting to think that the only one we can really count on is OURSELVES. Maybe in the end, we’re all on our OWN. ‘
