Lately, I’ve been feeling disconnected from my roots. I see those around me fully immersed in their cultural heritage—celebrating family traditions, enjoying food from their countries, and sharing music that resonates with their backgrounds. My immediate family was born in the States, leaving my great-grandparents as the last to have been born elsewhere and intimately connected to our origins. I long for that same connection and want to weave our cultural traditions into the home I’ve just started with my family. While I’m proud to embrace American culture, I also want my kids to know and appreciate their heritage. Where does one even begin? 😮💨
