Jonny's not really that bad. We've... well, when you're around for as long as we are, your morals tend to degrade a bit, so he'd probably seem worse to someone who hasn't spent a lot of time on Aurora. He's better than I was in some ways but worse in others. His insults can be... somewhat lacklustre, but he bites. Literally.

I do deeply regret how I treated Martin, and all of you.

Daisy was a cop I met while she was investigating Gertrude's murder. I don't know if they've started that yet in your world, but Martin found her body in the tunnels. Daisy... well, she tried to kill me once, but I saved her life, and we ended up becoming friends.

I... I'm glad of that. That you'd still consider me a griend even after being such a dick. I appreciate it immensely.

That's fair. My definitions of actual competence versus willingness to do morally questionable actions are probably terribly skewed at this point. I hope you can mess up Jonah's computer immensely. I... yea, wet cat is a pretty good descriptor.

We're all pretty good friends. We've been together for so long it's kind of hard not get close. I'm probably closest with Jonny, actually, after the war and all. Lyf's still warming up to us, but they've been through a lot pretty recently so it's understandable.

Yea, it took a bit of getting used to, but I honestly don't even think about Jonny's name all that often. He's enough of a bastard most of the time that it distracts me, heh.

Alright, storytime! This one's normally told in a ten-minute musical number, but Jonny's not here right now, so this'll have to do.

It started when I ended up in this world. I hadn't been here long when I met Bertie, who I became good friends with. He actually helped me get over... everything. After a few years, a war broke out between Britain and the Moon Kaiser, who was ruling on the moon. He'd built a giant cannon aimed directly at London. I was drafted, and Bertie came along with me.

Most of the fighting by the time we got there was in vast tunnels and caverns, and it was there we met Jonny d'Ville, the first mate of the starship Aurora, and the Toy Soldier, who... exists. We ended up becoming friends between the gas and microwave attacks, and we spent awhile like that until Bertie... well.

I, er, went a bit... crazy and ended up wiping out half the Kaiser's army before I was captured, but I managed to turn the cannon around and light the fuse, fleeing into the Kaiser's life pod. I didn't get the visor closed, though, and got my eyes burnt out. Jonny found me and had my eyes replaced with mechanical ones, and I ended up joining the crew.

I... did not think to burn it. To be fair, I was in a bit of an episode at the time. Wish it had been the beach episode. I think my thought process was wooden table = weak to axes.

It likely wouldn't have worked anyway, though. Destroying the table only freed the Not-Them, though I suppose if it had been on fire it would've had a harder time getting out.

I don't Know if you'd be able to pick the lock. Gerry was incorporeal, but he was also a book. It makes sense that you would be able to, given you can interact with the tapes.

If you can, try to make sure your Jon doesn't get his hands on an axe, or at least can't take it to the web table. It'll just make everything worse. He's probably quite paranoid at this point, so if you manage to interact with him before getting into the drawer and he wants proof, direct him to the Statement of Amy Patel. Case 0070107.

I'm so sorry, but yes. They don't die in the Institute, though. Tim dies in Yarmouth, destroying the Circus that killed his brother. Martin... I don't know if he's actually dead. I can't See him, but... he was in the Panopticon when it collapsed, and he didn't come with me when I ended up Somewhere Else.

I do remember you. It took... it took a year and a half, for the memories to start coming back, but I remember you now. I don't Know when, or what it will take, but your Jon will remember you.

He will find your polaroids and tapes, and it will take a year and a coma after that, but he will remember you. I hope that your world never comes to the same end as mine, but that your Jon will find the Not-Them somewhere other than that damned carousel and destroy it.

If I knew how to go between worlds without using Hilltop Road, I would come through and kill it again myself.

God, I have so much to tell you. I don’t even know if I’m your Jon, but if I’m not, I Know that our worlds were similar enough that anything I told you would be accurate. I… it’s been longer for me than for you. I don’t really follow linear time anymore. I’ve been in the future and the past and the present, all at once. I don’t… I’m not sure if I sound different because of the time or because I’m a different Jon.
