Last November I got a book deal by the German publisher "Drachenmond Verlag". Sadly, the book will only be avaible in German but maybe there's still some German followers that would like to support me :D

Hello everyone! ✨🌸

I'm not sure who still remembers me (it's been so long wow), but I wanted to make a quick post to say: I'm still alive and I'm still writing! I hope everyone is doing fine, as fine as someone can be these days...

I still remember the ol' tumblr days fondly and do miss this community, but times change and I changed and so did my writing and the stories I want to tell. The journey was rough and this year was chaotic, but also in a good way. This year I wanted to self publish my very first book, a story I absolutely love. I had plans, I had a cover which I made myself, and then the most wonderful thing happened: I got a book deal by a wonderful German publisher!

Suddenly everything went rather quickly and I had the chance to show my manuscript to a publisher and was accepted 🥺😍

This journey is still in the midst of becoming my absolute dream: seeing my story as an actual book in people's hands and on their shelves. In december, I'm working on polishing this book baby so that it can be released into the world in the first half of 2024! I also have a cover already, and it's SO freaking beautiful! 😍😍😭

In my book baby, you will find badass viking ladies, magic, dragons, gods and a wonderful wholesome sapphic love story 🐲🌈🔥⚔

I hope life is going well for you! I wanted to thank you for being a huge inspiration for me when it comes to being persistent about writing and working towards a goal. Hey there! This is so sweet of you, for thinking about me, thank you so much! My health hasn't been really great tbh, but I'm still passionate about telling stories 💪 And I'm an inspiration? Don't make me cry! That means so much to me an, I am honoured 🥰😟

And yes, I'm still loving my newest project! I'm actually about to hit 120k on this baby, which also means that I am SO close to the end, which also means that this is the 3rd first draft of a story I ever finished! The others being The Dawnbringer and my very first project ever. So that's exciting. I don't think I'll be sharing much of it tho, mainly because the whole manuscript is in German, and, as much as I loved sharing my stuff on tumblr, I also felt it was draining me. At some point I felt I only have to produce for tumblr, so I can share some lines with my followers. I just need this project to be mine, to fully understand everything before sharing anything of it. BUT I can show you the two main protagonists who are half sisters and are definitely going through some shit haha. Can you guess the setting it's inspired by? ;)

This is the sweetest thing 😭 thank you so much for thinking about me! 💕 life has been wild, but I'm still writing. A week ago I was hit my yet another new idea, but this ones kinda different, as in "I actually wrote more than 10k in under a week"- different. This idea is so much fun and I'm getting hit by so many cool ideas that writing is going really smooth. (Hope I won't jinx it now...)

The widow of Wulfbald

This woman’s name is lost to history, as it is the case with other warriors I will cover on this blog. She nonetheless stands out as an example of a medieval Anglo-Saxon woman whose active participation in armed conflict is “beyond reasonable doubt”. She indeed fought to retain possession of her husband’s estates in Kent ca. 990.

Her story is known thanks to a charter from the reign of Aethelred II (968-1016). This source informs us that after his father’s death Wulfbald, a prominent Kentish landowner, went on seizing his stepmother’s property and an estate at Bradbourne belonging to one of his kinsmen. Royal writs and a council resolution declared his lands and life forfeit to the king. Wulfbald died, however unpunished and still in possession of the said properties. 

Wulfbald’s cousin, Eadmaer, immediately seized the opportunity and occupied the Bradbourne estate. Wulfbald’s widow headed for Bradbourne with her child and killed Eadmaer and fifteen of his retainers. The number of victims thus suggests that she commanded an armed party. In spite of her victory, the king managed to regain control of all the lands previously held by Wulfbald. What happened to her after loosing the properties she fought for is unknown.

Would she had to wait for Arosin until the fireplace no longer burned? What if he didn’t come, or worse if they had arrested him?

An idea came to her then. A mad one. She rushed to the dining table, stared at the candleholder as she weighed her plan. Then, she tipped it over. The loud bang as it crashed on the table made her flinch. Two candles jumped out of the holder and rolled across the table. One landed on the chair on which her wedding gown hung. At once it caught fire. 

Eadinn sucked in her breath. Hungrily, the flames ate themselves through the ivory fabric. With an odd fascination, she watched how this monster devoured its prey.
