I'm feeling a little bit bad about the delay on the next chapter of Returning to You. I thought I would have a lot more time to write last week than I did, so, for anyone following me because of that fic, here is a short snippet from Chapter 14

The link to the fic is here - it's an AU from season 3 where Polin don't end up married, and Penelope raises their daughter herself. It's Agatha who starts to bring them back together once she finds Colin

‘Let us show you to your rooms,’ Kate offered.

Penelope nodded gratefully. Two of the footmen had their luggage in hand, and Penelope and Agatha followed Kate through Aubrey Hall.

It was surprising to Penelope, just how little the place had changed. So many memories were unlocking as they walked up the stairs and through to the wing where most of the bedrooms were. They stopped at one door.

‘This is your room Agatha,’ Kate said, pushing the door open.

‘I get my own room?’ Agatha asked in awe.

‘We don’t mind sharing,’ Penelope offered.

‘Nonsense. You are Bridgerton’s. You can have your own rooms.’

Penelope knew she should correct Kate. She was not a Bridgerton. Not even close. It hardly felt like the right moment though. So she let it pass.

‘Penelope,‘ Kate turned to her with a devastatingly beautiful smile. ‘You are next door.’

Kate opened the door for her and Penelope stepped in. It was like being transported back in time. It was the room she always stayed in, back when she was still a child. The room was all greens and blue accents. It looked exactly as she remembered it.

‘We though you might like something familiar,’ Kate said with a smile.

‘Thank you,’ Penelope said, her voice was soft and she was worried it would crack. ‘All of this means so much to me. I know it cannot be easy and I-‘

‘Stop,’ Kate said, her tone gentle. ‘You are family, Penelope. No matter what anyone says.’

‘But I-‘

‘We are just grateful you have returned, and to have the precious gift that is Agatha brought into our lives. Regardless of how long it took for us to find our way together again.’

Penelope nodded. ‘Thank you Kate. This is all appreciated more than you will ever know.

‘We will let you freshen up for dinner. We will meet you in the dining room in an hour. You can call for a ladies maid if you need one.’

Penelope nodded. She stood there, in the middle of the room until Kate and Violet shut the door behind them.

Every Thursday night the Bridgerton's (plus partners & friends) went to Mondrich's. It was Penelope's favourite day of the week. This particular Thursday started the same way. Until Colin is suddenly kissing her, and telling his ex she is the person he's dating. Everything is fine.

I finished it!

Thursday's is a light-hearted fic I needed to write because my regency WIP was so angsty, I needed something to help me break it up. It's now complete and has been so much fun to write something a bit chaotic, a bit ridiculous, but fun.

I adore modern Polin so much! It always so fun to explore what Pen and Colin would be like in a modern setting.

a fun fact about me is that I had never finished any fanfic longer than a one-shot until Polin found me. They have me in a chokehold and refuse to let go.

Updated my little modern WIP that is chaotic, and silly and fun to write

hi! i just saw that you posted a new chapter of returning to you and i'm so so happy! do you maybe have a time frame in mind for when the next chapter will be posted? or maybe how many chapters approximately it will have? i don't want to rush you or anything but i'm addicted to the story, it's literally one of my favs of all the polin fics i've read (i've read a looot lol)

Thank you! I'm glad you're happy to see an update.

I don't have an exact timeline - I want to aim for a minimum of once a week, but work and life are both really busy at the moment so some updates might end up taking a little bit longer because I have less time to write.

I have the next chapter about 70% done already, so it hopefully won't take me too long to get ready to post!
