Possible duo for five pages, Beryl and Elsbeth

Long story short, they are from a bigger story idea of mine. If you’d like to know more here’s the gist:

They’re both witches who work as spies/recovery agents for a underground coven and help keep other witches safe from hunters. Beryl is the witch of flies and can use flies to spy (fly on the wall type thing). Her other skills take much more energy and sacrifices.

Elsbeth is the Witch of Doors and can connect any one door to another (if they have similar proportions). She’s good at jail breaks, but also subterfuge and helping beryl “bug” any room.

Ideas

-New robo and old human grim reaper esque characters getting to know each other in a post apocalyptic scene. Can be a allegory for AI replacing the work force. pros- robots, cool, very thought provoking, sad cons-characters are very stationary and alone, they feel less like they have their own lives and more like gods

-witch who repairs wands/ staffs? traveling mage of some kind and their effect on others lives pros-more "alive" character, easier to design cons-magic system will have to be very loosely explained to save space

Five pages is not a lot man I don't know how to not make a huge expansive world with 50 characters who I love equally.

That sorta gives me an idea though. What if the comic is someone exploring/existing in a large world and meeting other characters on their journeys? I love a character who's married to their work and has a sort of mysterious vibe. The "fixes other peoples problems but doesn't even acknowledge their own" guy.

Five Pages Project

Hello! I'm normally over on my fanart blog argonblue, but I wanted to keep this seperate.

Four years ago, I made a promise to myself that I would make a comic by September 1st, 2025. Now, on January 5th, 2025, I have nothing to show for all that time. Because I wasn't good enough to start, or I didn't have the time for a big project, or I just didn't know how to begin.

So my New Years resolution is to finish what I never started, and make a comic.

I've given myself the constraint of just five pages, so the project doesn't overwhelm me. I'm going to make the characters and story from the ground up, and document the whole process here.

My goal is to improve my art, and make something that I can be proud of. I might also post about other personal projects here, but I will try to keep it sorted by using #fivepagesproject.
