Forced to log into Tumblr to view our own blog. Hi. I know we said "small hiatus" and then proceeded to completely disappear - turns out not using Tumblr improved our mental health! By a lot!

Sorry to everyone that just kind of expected (if anyone at all) that we would be back soon. It also turns out the move, while the actual physical process went smoothly, sent us into a legal limbo that proceeded to last AN ENTIRE YEAR. More than, even!

That being said, do not by any means take this as a sign that we're gonna be back (though again, idk how many people actually missed us or if they just kinda forgot - it's whatever at this point.) because of the aforementioned point that our mental health improved getting out of here. Social media in general, really.

The internet is getting worse. You can pretty much only find us on Discord at this point, or by sending a letter attached to a carrier pigeon and hoping it doesn't get lost on the way. Though even Discord is kind of going down the shitter and we keep forgetting Bluesky exists. So! I dunno! If you've got us friended on Discord, by all means, reach out. Otherwise, sorry about the disappearance and that we never mentioned anything - we didn't want to log back in because we didn't want to get sucked back in, if that makes sense.

Also hi, we are now 21. Should update that. Or something.

Hi guys, I'm gonna take a small hiatus from Tumblr until after I get my IRL things sorted out.

Can't remember if we've said this here before or not, so here it is again: I'm moving countries at the end of this year (hopefully). I've been in a stressful spot between my mother starting her shit up again and the move. I'm most likely going to stay off Tumblr for my own sanity, given the world is starting to fall apart around us which means half the blogs I follow are reblogging things about current events.

I cannot, reasonably or emotionally, unfollow every blog on my dash that posts this. One, that'd make me feel bad and two, lots of them post other content that I enjoy seeing right now. Which is why I'm taking this hiatus, since that way once I'm in a better spot both physically and emotionally, I can come back like everything's good.

You may have noticed my activity dropped again, that's most likely due to Tumblr's UI change too. Accidentally refreshed my tab and now I have the shitty Twitter-esque sidebar menu.. so, fuck that noise.

I kind of fear for the safety and sanctity of the internet as it stands today. Part of me worries that it'll change so drastically in the next few months to the point where this hiatus becomes indefinite, but we'll see.

Not just the economic landscape but the social landscape could be transformed.

HAATEEEE hate actually. that overweight is considered a more pc nice term than fat. like i need the word fat to become destigmatized right now because im tired of people talking circles around trying to say chubby or big or plus size as catchalls because fat is a fine word. its fine. i know its been deemed derogatory by our culture but thats because being fat is deemed bad anyways but i think its a better word than calling people overweight like over what weight hm? what weight are you saying they are over. normal?? fuck you

for a while there i was sympathetic to tumblr because of how much they’re in debt; i was kind of like “well of course they’re absolutely desperate for new users, they literally need the money or else tumblr goes down forever”. and then suddenly today it hit me that there’s actually no fucking reason for that debt to be causing these ui changes? the userbase has been INCREDIBLY clear about what they want from tumblr over the years, not to mention clear about the fact that even twitter people don’t need this place to look like twitter. it actually would be very… EASY? for them to just make changes in a direction people would actually be HAPPY with?

for fuck’s sake there were people trying to organize a “crab day” for tumblr despite tumblr doing nothing but telling us to go fuck ourselves for months on end. there were people spending hundreds of dollars on check marks just for the glee of MAKING FUN of twitter. can you IMAGINE how much money this userbase would donate to tumblr if they actually made ui updates geared toward what people have been asking for?

if tumblr actually crowdsourced ideas or even just LISTENED to their userbase it may have been possible for them to make way more money than they’re begging for now, they just insist on trying to drive their actual demographic and loyal userbase out for literally no reason

When you work in a creative field there’s a mental trap you can fall into where you think that if you can’t be the best and most famous in the whole world that there’s no point but really there’s a million ways you can do your thing either as a job or as a hobby that are just as important if not more so than the most famous people in the field
