I can't remember my dreams...
Arminweek day 7: dreams
Super late entry, I hope it's still valid! I never draw Armin with short hair, but I wanted to make a canon version of him!

Armin Week 2020 | Prompt: Dreams
A Dream To Last A LifetimeÂ
It was the eve of Arminâs fifth birthday and he stood in the doorway of the room he was never meant to go into, though heâd often try to sneak into when his parents were watching, with his hands over his eyes and an excited smile on his face. Peeking through his little fingers Armin could see the large metal objects his mother would scold him for trying to play with and the light brown shelf that held all the forbidden books he wasnât allowed to read. He didnât like that very much, not being able to see the big books his father would read in hushed tones and his mother would hide in the secrets drawers when company came around, no, he didnât like it all. He wanted to know what they were always talking about and he wanted to talk about it too, but as he pressed his fingers back together so his glimpse of the room was blocked out again he wondered if he was going to be able to see everything today. He sure hoped so âŠ
âOkay,â returning to her husbandâs side Arminâs mother watched his smile widen before she shouted, âOpen your eyes!â Not needing anymore prompting Armin pulled his hands away and felt his eyes widen in surprise as he gasped. The room was huge! It was so much bigger than heâd ever imagined and the little glimpses heâd snuck through the cracked door, and his fingers, hadnât prepared him for it at all! Standing surprisingly still Armin took in the expanse of the room as his eyes shot from one object to the next, trying to take everything in and remember every detail in case this was the last time he saw it all.
âWow!â Toddling closer to the wooden table Armin reached up to touch the silvery metal that lay on the table top, silent and still, like any other object heâd seen before. This one was different though, this one was special ⊠It had to be, otherwise his parents wouldnât have hidden it away with all the other forbidden things. He wondered what it was.
âThatâs an engine,â kneeling beside Armin his mother watched as he clumsily traced the lines in the steel. He was barely tall enough to see the table top but his curiosity was enough to make him stand up on his tip toes and reach out as far as he could.
âEn ⊠gine?â Turning to look up at his mother Arminâs curious little frown and scrunched up nose made her laugh as he tilted his head to the side and asked, âWhatâs an engine?â She loved seeing his curious blue eyes all full of wonder and questions every time he got to see something new. She couldnât wait to show him the world ⊠It would be a dream come true!
âItâs part of a big, flying machine.â She replied with a soft smile that made her golden eyes sparkle, âa flying machine that will âŠâ Pausing mid-sentence Armin watched his mother glance around the room as if someone else might have walked in. He knew that would be bad. They werenât supposed to have all of these forbidden things, his parents had told him so, but he wouldnât let anything bad happen. Peering behind his mother to see if the handle moved Armin tried to look tough by deepening his frown. He would keep anything bad away for sure!
âItâs going to take us to the outside world, Armin.â The sound of his fatherâs voice almost made him turn around but he stared at the handle for a moment more, making sure no one was coming, before reluctantly glancing up at his father. âThe world no oneâs seen for hundreds of years ⊠Weâre going to see it!â The excitement in his fatherâs voice made Armin burst out into a smile as he looked up into his fatherâs hopeful blue eyes that made any thought of bad things disappear.
âWhen? When do we see it?â Bouncing on his tip toes Armin noticed his fatherâs gaze shift to his mother for a second before he knelt, lowering himself to a level closer to Arminâs.
âYou canât tell anyone about this, okay?â Armin nodded quickly, happy to make that promise. âYour mother and I ⊠Weâre not supposed to have any of this, weâre not supposed to speak of this and weâre not supposed to show you, butââ Placing his hand on Arminâs shoulder Mr. Arlert gave him a reassuring smile before continuing. âYouâre old enough to understand this now, to be part of this dream, and although we donât know when weâll see it ⊠Your mother and I want you to know about it at least.â
âWe want you to have dreams too.â Kneeling beside him now Mrs. Arlert patted his hair for a moment as she looked at him wistfully, as if he were something in her dreams, something she watched with wonder. âDo you want to be a part of this dream?â Armin just nodded again and his smile was a promise that he would always keep that dream alive.
No matter what.
It was almost eleven years later when Armin finally found himself standing on the edge of everything heâd known, gazing out at the expanse of a dream he remembered promising his parents heâd be a part of. Staring at the ocean silently Armin felt the warm sand beneath his feet shift as he took one last shaky breath before he stepped into the cold, blue water that embodied every bit of hope heâd ever had and every ounce of belief heâd put into his dream. No, not just his dream but their dream too. All of them. Together.
âMom, dad ⊠Iâ I made it.â

I know there might still be some lingering content coming up soon since the day isn't entirely over yet, and I'll be making a more official thank you post tomorrow to close up, but I just want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who participated in Armin Week đ
Seriously, I was a little worried at first when I created it because, even though I've been a member of this fandom for over 5 years now, my @armin-hearteyes-arlert blog is only about seven months old, and I wasn't sure how many people would participate or even know about it! But you guys did it! You shared your incredible content (seriously, you all are so amazingly talented, I'm BLOWN AWAY) and gave all your love to this incredible character, and I couldnt be more happy!
So, for tonight, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.

Armin Week 2020
Prompt #7: Dreams
Note: This is a poem that I originally wrote for a school assignment a while back. It has been the basis of my other poemsâ themes and structure during Armin Week. Because of this, I feel it fits the final Armin Week prompt. Not only is Armin determined to reach his own dreams, but he inspires others to do the same.
Shimmering seas of alluring azure
Golden tresses spun of heavenly silk
Lingering glances, innocent and pure
Searching for knowledge with those of his ilk
Beneath the façade lies a weakened heart
Once written on his skin were words of grief
A burden he seems as his friends depart
In solitude finding saddened relief
Parchment flutters beneath his fingertips
The world holds its breath as his voice rings clear
His eyes gleam fiercely as a sharp eclipse
He grasps their hands and draws his comrades near
Rival bloodlust with determination
My angel; my muse; my inspiration

Armin Week, Day 7!
Day 7: Dreams
âI canât wait to wipe out all the titans!â Eren said as he sat down on his bed after a hard day of training.
âYeah, we knowâ Reiner said, and Armin felt like the guy was trying not to roll his eyes âSo, what happens after youâve wiped them out?â
Eren paused, exchanging glances with Armin. Should they tell Reiner? Armin didnât take him for the kind of guy whoâd rat them out for talking about the outside world, but he might very well laugh about what he heard, and that was something Armin wasnât too keen on listening about. Maybe they shouldnât say anything, at least in detail.
âYou guys are hiding something, no question about thatâ Reiner grinned, a dangerous glint in his eyes âSpill it. Now.â
âNo harm in telling him, right Armin?â Eren was the one to decide âThis is Reiner weâre talking about.â
Well, Armin supposed itâd be okay. Bertolt was there too, sitting quietly next to Reiner, but he was definitely not the type to boldly laugh at others. In fact, he might even scold Reiner if he laughed.
âI guess soâ the small blond finally said, confessing: âEren and I want to go and see the world outside the walls.â
âSo, you guys want to go sightseeing, eh?â Reiner asks âAnything in particular?â
Armin hesitates, and because of that Bertolt manages to cut in: âShould we really be having this conversation? Talking about the outside world is- â
âLive a little, Bert!â Reiner cuts his timid friend off âNo oneâs paying attention to what weâre saying, and even if they did and tattled on us, we wouldnât get in that big trouble for just talking.â
Reiner was right, Armin knew. When he was a child, he often got bullied for speaking of the outside world, but there was never any legal trouble for him, not even when the soldiers heard.
âThen again, the soldiers were usually drunkâ he reminded himself.
ââŠI suppose soâ Bertolt said, glancing around nervously, but no longer protesting.
âWhen we were kids, Armin told me about something called the oceanâ Eren answered Reinerâs earlier question, nudging Armin with his elbow âRight?â
âYe-yeahâ Armin said âI definitely want to see the ocean. According to my book, there are also icy plains, seemingly endless fields of sand- â
âWouldnât a book like that be illegal?â Reiner suddenly cut him off, his face serious. Armin froze, looking at Reiner with wide eyes. After a few seconds of silence, Reiner chuckled âIâm just messing with you; I wonât tell. Go on.â
âYou know Reiner, sometimes you can be such an assâ Eren said with a laugh, also having fallen for the guyâs act for a second.
âUmm⊠so what is this âoceanâ you speak of?â Bertolt asked. Reiner gave him a weird look, Armin noted, and the pointed look the tallest boy gave him back was equally odd and out of place. Sometimes Armin couldnât help but think that these two had something that only they understood between them. He was curious to know if there really was something, but it wasnât really any of his business, so he never asked.
âItâs this huge amount of water that most of the world is covered inâ Armin told, trying hard not to let his voice rise in excitement, talking about the ocean often doing that to him âSalt water!â
âSalt water, you say?â Reiner said âThatâs⊠not something Iâve heard of before.â
âMost people havenâtâ Eren pointed out âI wouldnât know either had Armin not told me about it.â
âThen⊠seeing the ocean is what you guys want to do? After defeating the titansâ Bertolt asked âLike a life goal?â
âYes!â Armin confirmed with a firm nod âWell, not just the ocean, many other things too, but the ocean is what I want to see the most!â
âSounds interesting. Maybe we should tag along, eh Bert?â
ââŠâ
âWhat about you guys?â Eren asks them âAnything you two really want?â
âIâll go home, no matter whatâ Reiner replied âNot that Iâm sure what comes after that⊠but one thing at a time. Right Bert?â
âThatâs rightâ Bertolt agreed âThat takes priority, and after that- â
Bertolt went silent suddenly, and Armin found himself curious to know what the guy had been about to say. Judging from the looks on their faces, Eren and Reiner were curious as well.
ââŠAnd after that?â Reiner pressed when his friend didnât continue.
âN-nothingâ Bertolt stammered, blushing. Armin raised an eyebrow at that. Looking at Reiner, he realized that the taller blond noticed too and that he seemed to know something that Armin didnât.
âMaybe you have some dreams in the long run that you want fulfilled?â Reiner suggested, grinning âMaybe those dreams include a certain someone?â
Armin caught on. It was not rare to catch Bertolt stealing glances at Annie; she must be the one Reiner meant.
âSomehow⊠I donât feel too happy about thatâ he realized with a frown.
âI have no idea what youâre talking about!â Bertolt denied, his face red. Reiner and Armin laughed, Armin even more so when he noticed that Eren hadnât caught on. Well, he was dense when it came to these things.
âMaybe, by the time we see the ocean, we too have some other people by our sides that we want to share the sight with.â

Armin Week: Day 05: Armin as the Founding Titan
I didnât had a clue on how to explore the prompt since Eren became a dinosaur and, well, i didnât want to draw a dinosaur, but i wanted this prompt since it was the most interesting oneâŠÂ So instead i drew steamy boy coming out of his titan after doing partial rumbling to wipe out military forces (like he thought Eren would do) Â
And i am really really proud of this piece because itâs probably the most detailed art i did til now. lol steam is difficult of doing when you donât use brushes lmao

Armin Week 2020 | Prompt: Founding Titan
They say god is an imaginary man
A wall that does little to protect
From the dangers and pain
We humans inflict
On one another
But I have seen god
And he is just a boy
With broken bones
 They say god created evil
That the devil came
From godâs own veins
But I have seen god
And his blood
Makes flowers bloom
For when his bones break
He buries them in the earth
Growing
Changing
Becoming the forests we see
When we look for god outside the walls
Of our own beliefs.

Armin Week: Day 06 - EMA
Well my last prompt is a result of me reading the manga Runway de Waratte. A manga centered in the story of a boy wanting to be a fashion designer and a girl wanting to be a fashion model, but both being unable to initially pursue their dreams due to some circumstances.Â
Anyway, after reading this manga, the scenario of Armin, Mikasa, and Eren being fashion models kinda went through my mind⊠So here it is a Fashion Models AU that no one asked for it, and itâs probably the most random thing of this week.Â
It was a pleasure to work on this week, and i would like to ask people to rise up hands and praise @armin-week2020 for running it. Thanks.Â
