Okay so I came out to my mom as aro yesterday and today she sent me a meme with the aromantic flag as the background with Shadow the Hedgehog standing in front of it with text saying “crushes are for the weak” like oh my god guys.

This is just my trans aro opinion but does anyone else kinda see a connection between cis people being like "actually gender isn't real and there's multiple ways to be a man or a woman so really it's trans people reinforcing gender roles by transitioning" even tho ur average trans person, including those who are 100% binary and gender conforming, will generally have done infinitely more introspection and work and unlearning on gender roles and their place within (or without) them and why they want present the way they do than ur average cis person, and like alloromantics being like "actually there's multiple different kinds of love so really it's aros being amatonormative and saying love = romance by not wanting love as a concept forced on them or treated as a requirement to be human" even though ur average aro will have done infinitely more introspection and research on the different kinds of love than ur average alloromantic person? The foolishness going up to a member of a marginalized group who has already had to learn and unlearn so much just to know and accept who they are and be like "well actually I think that youre the one who is blindly following normative values and ideas here"
