alicorns
alicorns are considered to be a rare mutant type. they are technically a hybrid mutant, but are not regarded as such. they can only be born if a pegasus mutant and a unicorn mutant have a child. many unethical laboratories have tried to replicate the DNA of alicorns, but none successful.
their horns give them a strong healing ability. unicorn mutants may heal someone through their hands or through their horn via direct contact. though the healing from their horn is much more powerful and is faster, it severely drains the energy of the user, and can even result in death if they are inexperienced with horn healing. using their hands is much more common and safer for the mutant. it provides a slow but steady process of healing while remaining safe for the unicorn mutant. after constant use, this is tire them and requires them to recharge their magical energy, but is highly unlikely to truly result in death or serious injury. it is common for unicorn mutants to seek roles in medicine due to their magnificent healing abilities.
it is also possible for them to be able to cure or purify other things, such as nature or water, but the success rate is much lower than other mutants that specialize in nature.
they also, of course, possess all abilities of pegasi as well. their wings can carry them extremely far, but not for an indefinite amount of time. they have amazing stamina and athletic ability, making them extremely nimble and swift.
due to their historic relation to the greek god Zeus, the anger and agitation associated with the flaps of their wings can cause thunder and lightning in the clouds, even resulting in storms in extreme cases.
they are also naturally drawn to the arts, making them very creative and hardworking. this also gives them a “natural talent” with their artistic hobbies.

griffins
griffin mutants are fusions between a lion mutant and an eagle mutant. they tend to be fairly protective of those they are close with and will go no bounds to protect them in any way they can. it is typical for griffin mutants to seek professions in law enforcement or security positions. griffin mutants usually possess very conventionally attractive features and are admired as one of the most beautiful mutant types.
due to ancestral feuds, griffin mutants have a mutual hatred with cyclops mutants. their ancestors were involved in a war in the foothills of the Riphean Mountains, modernly referred to as the Ural Mountains. this war is colloquially known as the Riphean War and is commonly brought up by both griffin and cyclops mutants when fighting with one another. they both belief the other to be responsible for the attack and have hated the others every since.
griffin mutants have always favored gold and riches. their ancestors hoarded gold at the edge of the world and were highly protective of their collection. this leads to modern-day griffins usually resulting in being very materialistic, typically involving gold and gems, but can exhibit in other items.
their eagle side gives them great agility and keen vision. they allow possess exceptional fearlessness and tend to face danger often in their lives. this can lead to griffin mutants getting themselves killed due to very excessive bravery. though uncommon, there are many cases where mutants known for their bravery have died while protecting another.
their lion side gives them tremendous strength and courage. they have tend to have very flowing, luscious hair. this tends to be the defining characteristics of lion mutants aside from their physical animal parts. their teeth are overall pointier, nearly fang-like, but keeping some molars in order to still consume non-meat products.

nymphs
nymphs are deity spirits that originate from natural features of the planet. there are many different types of nymphs that all identify with different natural features. every nymph is also devoted to a god or goddess, such as Apollo, Dionysus, Pan, or Artemis. these gods were known as the deities of all nymphs. they tend to have parental instincts towards children or smaller beings.
each nymph is bound to a different part of nature. due to this, most every nymph has their soul bound to the natural aspects of the environment they are derived from. the exception to this rule is if two nymphs were to create a nymph child that is born via childbirth. this usually gives the nymph weakened powers, but they inherit any powers that both parents may have, depending on what type of nymph they are. nymphs born "naturally" (through nature) are all deemed to be children of Gaia, the goddess of nature.
in terms of names, their first names will generally relate to nature, but this is not always the case. for last names, nymphs can use gaia or the type of nymph they are for it, or choose to not have one at all.
nymphs that derive from trees and flowers are known as dryad and meliae nymphs. their spirits are bound to plants and greenery, typically found in the wild, but they can be born from any plant in actuality. dryad nymphs have the power to transform and manipulate nature, as well as morph any part of their body to be any type of plant at any given moment.
nymphs that derive from mountains are known as oread nymphs. their spirits are bound to the alps and summits. those born from higher points on summits are known to be more powerful and have greater control of their powers. oread nymphs can manipulate rock and earth elements, as well as morph any part of their body to be any earth element at any given moment.
nymphs that derive from springs, rivers, and lakes are known as naiad nymphs. their spirits are bound to any remnant of water found in the wild. they have the ability to manipulate water and most other liquids. naiad nymphs are also able to morph any part of themselves into water at any given moment. nereid nymphs possess the same abilities as naiad nymphs, except that nereid nymphs derive from the sea. nereid nymphs tend to have a sense of superiority above naiad nymphs.
all nymphs age at a slower rate than others. this slow rate of aging may appear to others as them not aging at all, but it instead just them aging extremely slowly.
the wings of nymphs vary in appearance from person to person but behave relatively the same. they can fly for very long distances without breaks. with this ability, however, their wings are unable to be used in weathering conditions. when it is raining, snowing, etc., they are unable to fly at all. nymphs are required to cover their wings during these conditions, as well as during winters, or their wings will become damaged and will be unusable.
due to be strongly connected to nature, they will enjoy the outdoors and love to spend their time outside.

pegasi
their wings can carry them a great distance, but they cannot stay afloat forever. pegasi have amazing stamina and are extremely nimble and swift. this allows great athletic ability within many pegasi.
in history, pegasi have always been associated with and have had a strong connection to the greek god Zeus. related to this, whenever a pegasi is agitated or angry, the flaps of their wings can summon thunder and lightning in the clouds above and can even cause storms in severe situations of agitation.
pegasi are naturally drawn to the arts, such as poetry, song, dance, art, and others. this makes them extremely creative and hardworking beings, allowing them to have a sort of natural talent when it comes to artistic hobbies.

zombies
zombies are not very memorable within society.
decay of their flesh occurs when they come in contact with water or other liquids. this causes zombies to avoid rain conditions. they are also not able to clean themselves with water, adding a level to the terrible smell of their already decaying stench. with enough force, their body parts can separate with blunt force or with a sharp object. their body can easily fuse back together after this occurs, however. adverse effects may appear for a short while after reconnection, but they are usually not long-lasting.
their brains are vulnerable to permanent damage and cannot heal. any trauma received to the spine or brain leaves a zombie at risk for permanent deficits. zombies can fall asleep easily if they are immobile, making them situationally narcoleptic. they are naturally drained of energy due to a lack of circulation. because of it, zombies usually require a mobility aid in order to move about since their bodies dont produce enough chemicals for them to remain in motion for long periods of time.

vampires
vampires are very common to encounter. their skin cannot withstand the sun, so they must cover up. failure to shield themselves from the sun will result in extremely painful blistering sunburns. due to this, vampire engineers have manufactured a magical item for vampires to use to shield themselves from the sun. a magical cloak shrouds the holder completely head to toe without obstructing others' views of the holder.
to make up for their lack of blood, many vampires will seek blood shops in order to either gain a high or increase their iron levels. typically, blood consumption at least once a month will allow a vampire to manage a normal iron level. consuming blood in considered taboo, so these shops and the consumption of blood are usually kept in secret, resulting in many vampires having permanent anemia. additionally, anytime a vampire consumes alcohol, they will become drunk almost immediately. any breathalyzer test taken by a vampire will result in a 1.00 (100% BAC) since they dont have blood.
due to them being cold-blooded, they are sensitive to cold temperatures and cannot produce body heat. they are also unable to regulate body temperature and can overheat. garlic can lead to severe allergic reactions and even death in extreme cases. vampires are also unable to see their reflection in any mirror or reflective surface. due to this, no vampire can be photographed.
if a vampire were to feed on another person to drink their blood, their victim will receive a rush of endorphins throughout their body. this inhibits certain innate feelings within them, causing any number of things that's specific to each individual.
they are able to morph into a vampire bat at any moment. this allows them to do anything a vampire bat is capable of doing, though their bat form is still highly sensitive to sunlight. any harm caused to a vampire in its bat form will be transferred to its person, and vice versa.
though the use of stakes is frankly outdated, many modern-day vampire hunters (named vampire crusaders by most) still carry these on their person. stakes used to kill vampires must be made from the wood of a hawthorn tree. wood from these trees is said to have power over the dead and prevent a vampire from rising again. when the heart of a vampire is impaled by a stake, the vampire will rapidly decay to dust after a few minutes. (basically a cremation w/o heat) there is a golden minute after impalement where a vampire is stabbed that a powerful heal can prevent their death, but the right timing is impeccable to save their life.

satyrs
satyrs are closely related to goats and share many traits.
they are very docile in nature and can appear shy or timid. their big ears allow them to hear better than average. satyrs can move faster than others but are extremely clumsy. they have above-average vision and good depth perception.
with large bursts of strong emotion, satyrs will force shift between their human legs and goat legs. each satyr can choose to use one pair over the other, but force shifts can and will occur.
instead of having a normal fight-or-flight response, they freeze up when surprised or scared. this varies between individuals but can present as a full-body response or a verbal response.
satyrs generally have a strong connection to the Gods Pan and Dionysus. they will usually enjoy wine, music, dancing, and women, but this is not evident in every single satyr. they also enjoy nature and outdoor activities.
satyrs also have a heightened sense of others' emotions and will be able to read the emotions of other mutants and humans. they cannot read the emotions of Gods or the rulers of the Underworld.

minotaurs
minotaurs are most commonly referred to as cows, as they share characteristics with cows/bulls.
mutants have cow legs with a pattern corresponding with their hair color. their legs are extremely strong and allow them to be very fast. unlike a satyr, they are unable to morph between human legs and animal legs. minotaurs are naturally social mutants and will flourish in groups.
the fur on their legs (along with their other body hair) is extremely fluffy and can regulate their temperature at ease. their body can resist heat to retain a cool body temperature. this causes any disease a minotaur may have to be reduced and short-lasting.
closely related to cows, their diet is restricted to plant and plant-based foods as their stomach is unable to digest meats. this creates an obstacle within a minotaur's life in order to find food they are able to consume and digest.
similar to bulls, minotaurs become "enraged" when there is excess movement in their vision. more realistically, they are overwhelmed by all the moving and can either shutdown or become increasingly angry depending on the person. comfort or waiting can help the minotaur come of out its altered state.

angels
angels are one of the most powerful and loved mutants. angels can either be born from two angels or reincarnated from a deceased member of Heaven.
naturally born angels can only be born from two mutants with angel blood. if only one carries angel blood, the child will inherit the full mutant of the non-angel parent. natural born angels are exceedingly rare due to this. natural born angels are often victims of human trafficking and are considering high-value in the black market.
reincarnated angels are created from individuals who have died and were placed in Heaven after their evaluation in Limbo. a contract is signed between the individual and God, requiring the individual to carry out bounties set out on "sinners" on Earth. these bounties target those who violate the laws of the land, as well as the ten commandments. bounties on those who violate the laws are more common than those who violate the ten commandments. any angel who fails in capturing or neutralizing their bounties will be subject to punishment, potentially being damned in Hell.
natural born angels and reincarnated angels can be easily distinguished by a white streak in a reincarnated angel's hair, symbolizing a "resurrection." all angels possess feathery white wings that can be retractable to gain a sense of stealth in society. they also possess a golden halo that damages any demons that make contact with it. additionally, golden ear jewelry with the same effects is usually adorned by the angel. each angel has the ability to heal others and themselves through their hands. natural born angels have a heightened level of this ability. each angel will usually wear gloves to cover their hands as the healing ability is draining, but can become less draining through practice.
all angels can fly for what is essentially an infinite time. their wings are extremely strong and can only be pierced by a demon's claws or horns.
natural opposition between angels and demons exists. not all mutants participate in this feud, but certain societal figures will perpetuate this idea, attempting to start a war between the two mutants. this is, unsurprisingly, unsuccessful.
natural born angels are stereotyped to work in medical fields, such as nurses or doctors, and reincarnated angels are stereotyped to work as freelance bounty hunters or as a member of law enforcement. many stray from this, but it is common to find these angels in these fields.

demons
within the universe, there are many types of demons to exist. each demon is unique in both abilities and appearances.
demons can either be born or transformed into one. a naturally born demon is produced by a parent(s) that has demon blood. a transformed demon is produced after a person has gone to hell and signed a contract with "the devil" (general term for the Lord of Hell) and is resummoned back to the living plane.
the contracts signed by transformed demons usually contain hits (killings) or torture/torment of an individual that a resident of Hell has sought out. if a transformed demon successfully completes a certain amount of contracts, the demon gets a choice if they would like to be reincarnated as a hybrid of their previous mutant with demon features (will not overlap if mutant features are all ready present) (horns, pointy ears, dark fingers, tail) transformed demons who fail to please the clients are damned in Hell, cursed will demon features for eternity unless they prove themselves worthy to any demon Royalty.
there are ten (excluding transformed) types of demons that roam the mortal realm and Hell.
puck demons are the least threatening of demons. they are proficient in housework, and offer their services to those in need. however, if they do not receive an offering of bread after the deed, they can undo all their work with a snap of their fingers and rob the individual. those who are offered a puck demon's service can typically identify it by its horns, but some are unaware of the service and are unknowingly duped and robbed for their lack of awareness.
nightmare demons are thought to be a phenomenon known as "paralysis demons", but are truly nightmare demons invading the minds of sleeping individuals. nightmare demons can slip into the shadows and travel undetected through them. victims of these demons are physically paralyzed while they are able to look around, often seeing the demon in this state. while studies have identified the nightmare demons, most do not believe the studies and continue to deem them as paralysis demons.
alp demons are often found in forests or wooded parks. they have the ability to shapeshift into animals to lure their victims to a secluded area where they return to their pure demon form to kill and devour their victims. an alp's horns represent a deer or stag's horns to avoid detection when roaming the woods. occasionally, hunters mistake alp demons for deer mutants and are tragically killed instead.
succubi and incubi are the most common and commonly known in the mortal realm. these demons possess the power of suggestion to individuals to have their victim feign romantic or sexual interest in the demon that has cast their power on. while using this power, the heart symbols engraved on their cheeks glow bright red or pink. on the other hand, these hearts will also glow if the demon has a genuine interest in someone.
poltergeist demons are demonic souls of individuals who are kept on the mortal plane after death, cursed to haunt any person they may choose. poltergeists are exceedingly rare, only a few sightings have been recorded and numerous rumored sightings. These demons can possess inanimate objects and move them around accordingly to their physical strength as a mortal. Only a select few poltergeist demons can actually possess living creatures, but this power has never truly been documented.
fallen angels are demons that have fallen from grace as angels and are cursed to become demons. this usually occurs when an angel falls from their faith and disgraces the Council of Heaven. fallen angels possess a type of corrupting touch, mirroring the healing touch of a true angel. they are forced to wear gloves as not to accidentally inflict pain with this ability. these demons also possess demon wings that can be used to travel great distances.
demons are a sort of "staple" breed of demons. they possess no unique abilities to them that all other demons do not also have.
arcdemons are demons that are born into or risen to royalty, more commonly born into royalty. they possess heightened abilities of demons, as well as an ability to control the minds of demons of lower status. they cannot use this ability on fellow arcdemons, however. other demons can usually detect a royal demon by their blood, causing them to be attacked by other demons who have bad blood with royalty or a higher idea of climbing the social ladders. angels are able to smell the blood of arcdemons as well. (each of the seven deadly sin demons and satan are arcdemons, as well as any of their familial line)
each demon after unique horns and pointed ears that are stained a certain color. their fingers and feet are stained and possess a tail unique to their breed.

chimeras
chimeras are artificial, scientific attempts at transforming humans into mutants or hybrids. there are underground associations dedicated to the study of this practice.
the practice of transforming a human into a chimera is simple (hypothetically). inject the person with the blood of the creature you are attempting to become a mutant of. (cows blood for cow mutant, goats blood for satyr mutant, etc.) with this law, however, cannot be practiced with mutants such as demons, angels, zombies, witches, or ghouls, as there are no creatures tied to the mutant that exist within the universe.
the practice of injecting a human with the essence of a creature seems simple in practice, but this can have adverse side effects to its victim: corruption of one’s soul and body, blood poisoning, temporary loss of consciousness, vomiting, and death. attempting to become a chimera is extremely high risk and has little to no cases of success without terrible side effects. the blood alchemists (the scientists in charge of chimera experiments and research) ruthlessly study chimeras and go to no means to research their studies.
phillia is regarded as one of the first successful hybrid-chimera. he was born a human with no abilities and was kidnapped from his home at the age of 6. after this point, they were regarded as a “patient” and was regularly experimented on for the association’s personal gain. phillia was first injected with the blood of a lion at age 9. his body was heavily affected by this, crippling him and nearly killing him at one point. after the healing of an unicorn mutant, he held onto life by a thread. with a miracle, he slowly recovered from the blood poisoning and took on the characteristics of a true lion mutant, the ears and a tail. their personality, however, did not take on any traits of a lion mutant’s and remained timid and reclusive.
after years of deliberation among the blood alchemy council, they agreed that phillia made tremendous progress in their study and a sacrifice of further experimentation would be worthy to see how far they could push the limits of the body. at age 13, phillia was once again injected with the blood of a creature, this time it was the blood of a goat. once injected, phillia erupted in pain and collapsed on the ground. vomiting blood, they could feel themselves losing their humanity. during this time, he was kept in isolation and was given food through a grate. his battle within himself could not be quelled and only calmed after three months.
permanent physical damage was evident after the negative moments of the goat’s blood subsided. his eye seemed corrupted and vision was partially lost in it. his mouth mirrored one of a ghoul, which was unusual of a chimera as there is no way to create a ghoul mutant. phillia concluded that the combination of the bloods in his system mutated to form a faux-ghoul blood and affected his physical attributes. The blood alchemists regarded the physical changes as unusual, but simply regarded them as meaningless corruption.
regardless of the adverse side effects, this was a milestone in blood alchemy. creating the first ever hybrid-chimera was seen as a major achievement across the blood alchemist world.
though, this achievement would be short-lived. the police were tipped off of the location of the blood alchemist lab and was raided. the blood alchemists were arrested and phillia, at age 15, and the other children were rescued.

hello. i am simply making this blog to document the laws and progress of the world of the story i have been crafting. the name is ‘sunflower symphony’. i chose the name mainly for alliteration and the symbolism behind the sunflower.
