This isn't about like... "Oh ppl are kinda mean >:(" its about holy shit. this sucks ass." Its been hurting my mental illness for so long to the point I'm straight up looking for flaws in every series or podcasts or anything because im worried I might be an awful person for liking something problematic. It has drained me since I'm 13-14, until now, almost 19.

I dont want to stop being critical of media. I just don't want that to be the point. I'm tired of "If you associate yourself with something problematic you're as bad as the thing" and "God if you like that media you're pathetic and deserve bullying" which are both things I've seen SEVERAL TIMES and still see.

I think it really depends on which crowd u surround yourself with.

If people around you act like playing minecraft is cringy because of a few racist assholes playing it, then its kinda shitty of them. I kinda watch only small streamers and youtubers, mostly lgbt+. If anything, being in those communities really kinda fixes the "i dont wanna associate myself with those racists aaaholes" problem, which tbh is very valid. Theres an entire side of the mc community thats so much better, even more so than before. Personally I think the mc renaissance is something very cool and worth it if we learn to deal with the shitty crowd (hold them accountable, not support them, etc)

(also I feel very relieved I didn't find stuff like that popular smp earlier cause rn its so hard to get into its insane, really drove me away before I realized how meh-to-shitty some ppl there were)

(last point: when I was like 12-13 and played minecraft like crazy, at least the hispanic community was WAY more toxic than now)

TW EATING ISSUES

I’ve been having trouble eating cause I’m very sad but also every time I try to eat something slightly unhealthy my parents go  like “ooooh don’t eat that ur so fat haha” which makes me feel bad and lose my appetite. Genuinely does anyone have any tips to get my apetite back cause the mix of depression and weird restrictions isn’t helping my growingly unhealthy self-shame for eating food... I want to get better before it get worse. If anyone has advice, please share :(
