I filmed and made a story board, found some giant white boards too.
My photo required a red jacket, a lamp, and a mirror.

I cut the wires down a bit. Bent them so they’d run smoother. Removed the tape ‘wings’ and replaced them with rubber bands. But after all this, it still needed help!

the design sucked and was very stiff. the motor could not spin it at all. The wire was so difficult to get in those holes. none of it worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this shows how every piston is out of phase to give a wave effect.

some brain storming went on this week lots of ideas. I was inspired by mechanical wings I saw on pinterest here’s my board!
https://www.pinterest.nz/arthurewan/141-p3/
In the end I decided on an idea based on the cuttlefish. From there I sketched a car style piston rod with six ‘bits’. Each bit was 60 degrees off from the next one to make a full circle effect and make the ‘wave’ happen.
I did a concept 3D print and then sketched a better version.
I also looked at ways of attaching things to the motor.

Some final model concept sketches, more coming in the future.

The first Image will be my final. I know it’s bland but, I don’t think the other ones show “quirky and slow” as well as this one.
The rest of these are just cool angles I got of the ‘visualisation’.
