OKAY this took me awhile but here we go ^.^

🌻 (sunflower) - What’s something your character has grown out of? Did it happen gradually or was it a drastic change? What caused this shift?

He would reflexively scratches his Orin-lobotomy-tadpole-scar a lot. It’s usually hidden by his haircut. Shart pointed it out to him 1 time and then he immediately stopped doing it forever. (Still does it if nobody’s watching or just Astarion is around)

🌼 (blossom) - When a stranger meets your oc, what’s the first thing they notice about them? What kind of vibes do they give off? Are they friendly and open? Cold and standoffish? Is the first impression people get accurate to who they actually are?

Because of the durgisms and amnesia — he comes off weird often to the point of concerning. When he’s got a more of a handle on himself, he starts to gives off a more friendly and warm vibe. He’s that stranger who like stops you in line for coffee and is like “hey by the way I love your outfit!!” but is prone to being overly friendly.

Also another big note — he’s a terrible flirt. He backs off when he’s shut down, but where it’s unwanted, it’s *awkward.*

I’d say this is a good summary. Anyone who meets him is likely getting one of the above or a small combo of the above.

🐥 (baby chick) - How does your oc feel about parenthood? Do they have children? If not, do they want any? Why or why not?

If Arthur could get a vasectomy, he would (normal way to start this answer out, I know.)

He isn't interested in the responsibility kids would entail. He wants to live his life for himself and he doesn't want to owe that responsibility to someone. Also? If we’re getting nitty gritty with logistics — he’d be terrified of passing on any Bhaalspawn problems to biological offspring.

Arthur is also not great with kids. He doesn’t know how to relate to them (in part bcs he doesn’t remember being a kid so he can’t draw on that experience). He can muddle through interactions okay with them but tends to overshoot and ends up in annoying-patronizing-parental-figure-territory and watch me babytalk-talk-down-to-you.

Karis on the other hand is “GREAT” with kids. Well, as good as a cult leader keeping his congregants trapped in a murder cult can be.

There’s a lot more to unpack with this regarding Karis and the expectation’s of Bhaalspawn — but I won’t do it at length here — all I’ll say is the expectation that he ‘sire offspring’ is almost constantly forefront of his mind, and his favorite thing about himself is that he is gay.

✨ (sparkles) - What gives your oc confidence? Is it something physical or more emotional? Do they inspire confidence in others? Why or why not?

Anything that makes him feel smart, or hot, or cool, or strong or….. He’s very susceptible to flattery (big shocker how he ends up with Astarion).

But particularly people who think he’s smart and competent. Gortash gasses Karis up a lot about what a ‘respectable-normal-intelligent-bhaalspawn-who’s-not-succumbing-to-his-urges’ he is, and he falls for it hard.

He’s really good at figuring out what people want to hear and telling them that, and thus is often good at inspiring confidence in others.
