Will Sonic have problems with the media again over time?

Yes, actually! In chapter 23~

I can't give toooo much away, but essentially in chapter 21, Shadow may have pulled Sonic back to the brink, and his friends may have been thrilled to see him smile again, but what about their feelings regarding what happened in chapter 20? What about G.U.N., or the media, the civilians, or even enemies? This next chapter will be focused a lot on Sonic's perspective of these things, since chapter 21 signified a switch... Well, I can't say much else!

Sonic's hydrophobia is really fun to write about btw bc I like to make it more of an aversion. Like, he hates being in water bc he's not as fast and he can't swim, but if someone is in danger IN the water, you know he's diving headfirst to save them. He's not afraid outright.

It makes writing all those scenes where I talk about the water around him in reality or in his dreams interesting, bc his relationship with it is just complicated. It's a great way of showing you Sonic's mood without me directly saying "Sonic was upset" too, if that makes sense~

I'm going to eventually write about a traumatic event Sonic had as a kid that's also associated with water (it's the thing Eggman said he'd tell Sage about), and I hope I can properly capture why water is the main thing I'm using to depict Sonic's trauma~ (well that and space, but I think we know where the space trauma comes from lmfaooo)

FINALLY have the first scene done......... I had to rewrite it, like, 5 times, no joke, and even now I am not satisfied. However, I figured everyone would rather have a mid chapter than no chapter at all, so fuck it we ball!! Hopefully the rest will be easier~

Ch. 23 of TMIDWYTS has been planned out! A part of me wants to start writing in a little bit, and if I do, then I'll have an idea on how long the full thing will take to finish. Unfortunately for me this might be another big chapter... Hopefully, I can get better at not being over descriptive for things that don't matter haha... ^^'

As for a title, I'm thinking Literal Monster, but nothing is set in stone yet! We shall see...

It's good to see a Sonic x Metal fan, especially Sonic x Elise, an underrated ship, plus I liked how in het ship Sonic looks innocent, while in gay ship he looks dark and yandere. I'm also curious about your opinions on these two ships, what attracted you and liked them?

Since I'm not too sure which two ships you're referring to, I'll just comment on the three that aren't sonadow!

For Sonic, Sonic Rush is just the best. The ending, when the two hold on to one another as they're slowly drifting apart, and Sonic holds Blaze's hand in both of his, fills me with so much joy! To me, the moment reads as though Sonic is trying to comfort her, and so much emotion is conveyed without a single word. I also really like how Sonic and Blaze reflect and complement one another in both personality and design, and I just think their two personalities really go well together!

For Sonic and Elise, the reason I drew that was because I spun a wheel of what people requested and it won, BUT I do like the premise both characters have in Sonic 06! I really love that Sonic helps Elise open up with her emotions, and through their friendship she essentially gains inner strength. There's a lot of potential, and I do have ideas on how I'd depict them in an 06 rewrite... but that's an ask for another day!

For Sonic and Metal, there's a lot to unpack. I essentially like it in a similar way people enjoy selfcest, but there's extra baggage to this that's just very fascinating to me? Metal is forged to be similar to Sonic in his personality, and as such Sonic sees through him. That intimacy, coupled with the fact that Metal is a machine that combats Sonic's 'embodiment of nature' theme, creates this really fascinating dynamic. Any love or hate they have for one another could potentially be applied to themselves, and I just love how metonic artists capture the vibe of the two seeing straight through one another in so much of their art. It's symbolic, it's juicy, it's also tragic depending on how you depict Metal in those moments... I love it. One day I'll have to go into more detail when I have the words...

For favorite books, off the top of my head, I love Gone Girl, Flowers in the Attic (major cw for this one, it is a sad and messed up story), Animal Farm, Othello, pretty much any Edgar Allen Poe story, and Frankenstein. There's a lot of classics I need to read as well (I bought the Odyssey the other day!)...

Idk if ur still interested in the concept of an anti shadow but I was thinking of the idea of instead of an anti shadow being a organic life form he could instead be an android 🤔 maybe to call back to shadows fear of himself being an android and the idea of an anti shadow feeling inadequate in comparison to an organic version of himself kinda interesting

Ohoho, yes, I do have one in mind. I need to finish designing him and then write out what his story is, but essentially, I went along the path of a Shadow "without Maria's influence". An android direction would be SICK though, you could def go the direction of a "Shadow without the cure" aspect and how that horribly harms his personhood. It would be interesting to see how Shadow interacts with him. You could write that through their interactions, seeing the sides of himself exaggerated in this anti would make Shadow have to deal with his insecurities.

sorry im too lazy to log in to leave a comment on your fic but i just finished chapter 15 and this is so delicious. i love how evil and fucked up sonic is being. like hes pretty normal at this point but i love when we get his inner dialogue and see that sonic has been a nasty girl. the devious beast driven by his primal desires. its so beautiful and real. and i love how real and intense you make shadows inner conflict. its not like oo hehe sonic is being scary and shadow likes it its like. shadow knows something is very wrong and his gut instincts tell him to run but but like. what if he didnt. and what if maybe possibly perhaps maybe maybe he wants it BUT HES FIGHTING IT SO HARD i love how hard hes pushing back. i need shadow to get a little freaky. he deserves it
