The Way of TMNT Sunita Kavitha

April and Sunita grew up together on the same street which led to their families being very close. When she was young, Sunita had a very playful personality that could match April’s enthusiasm. After her mother disappeared, Sunita began to hide her struggles and focused on being a person her loved ones could rely on. April sees Sunita as a big sister/role model and respects her greatly.

At the start of Way of the Teenager, Sunita overhead her father listening to a voicemail, implicating that her mother knew something about TCRI and was going to expose them. Overwhelmed by the knowledge that her mother’s death may not have been an accident, Sunita confided in April. Sunita isn’t around much in Way of the Teenagers since she goes to a different school than April and Irma. She is unaware that April is investigating her mother’s death.

The Way of TMNT Irma Langenstein

Irma has been April’s friend since grade school. She has a fairly a morbid and pragmatic outlook with a dry sense of humor. She cares little about conforming to society. Despite her prickly demeanor, Irma is fiercely loyal to her loved ones. Irma’s introversion will not save anyone from her verbally destroying them with her sharp tongue delivered in the most deadpan tone.

Irma and April go to the same academy for high school and room together in the dorms on the weekdays. Irma is initially the only one who knows April is investigating Dr. Kavitha’s death and leads on TCRI. Irma disagrees with April’s endeavor; concerned April will only hurt herself and Sunita by digging up the past. Regardless, Irma keeps April’s secret, covering for her whenever April sneaks out of their dorm room.

The Purple Dragons are a major antagonistic gang for the turtles in the Way of the Teenager.

When the Purple Dragons vandalize Second-Time-Around, the turtles and April go on the counterattack. This incident leads to the turtles first encounter with mutants like them.

Unfortunately, Bebop and Rocksteady are jerks.

There are a lot of things that Raph doesn’t understand. He doesn’t understand why April is friendly to his brothers or why she hasn’t exposed them. He doesn’t understand why she would cry over a store full of junk.

He doesn’t know that the O’Neil family started Second-Time-Around when they first immigrated to New York. He doesn't know the store is how April feels connected to her father after he passed away.

But…

What Raph does know is that it matters to April.

And that’s all Raph needs to know.

I started watching these nerdy-ass voice actors' incredible show about 6 years ago and I can’t overstate how much they changed my life. They not only made me fall in love with ttrpgs and the community around them but they launched the current state of my career by being the first ones to give me the opportunity to work for a big and far reaching project in the industry (Tal’Dorei Campaign Setting Reborn) and since then, I’ve been able to make a living by doing what I love. I will always be grateful for that. It’s really moving how many people like me have been touched by their kindness and creativity over the years. Congratulations for 10 years of incredible adventures and for many more to follow!

Context: Mikey was nearly executed by The Rat King which Raph feels particularly guilty because he didn't take Mikey's disappearance seriously at the time.

Worried about his brothers' safety, frustrated at the lack of progress finding other mutants and his growing suspicion of April's motives, Raph redirects his anger to April which results in an argument.

The Goon, Hellboy and Usagi Yojimbo anniversary exclusive print for Dark Horse Comics' 2024 San Diego Comic Con

This print is created for celebrating 25 years of The Goon, 30 years of Hellboy, and 40 years of Usagi Yojimbo.

Context: The turtles and April investigate rumors of sentient rats. Mikey goes off on his on and meets a homeless man who dresses as a large rat and calls himself The Rat King. TRK had befriend the local rat population and crowned himself their leader. The delusional man was hospitable to Mikey and initially accepting.

Unfortunately, Mikey would find himself on the wrong end of the executioner's block. The Rat King proclaimed that Mikey was the child of demons and that he would herald their return.

Mikey's brothers would intervene just in time. The turtles ignore the rantings of the crazed man, their nerves shaken. They nearly lost their little brother without realizing it.
