The Angled Ferry (2017)
This a 3D perspective of the Whitney Museum located near the High Line. The  Museum is unique in the sense the architecture is considered a work of art and is shaped like a ferry. I wanted to add to the ferry's concept and give it some additional features, so I drew some balconies and railings on the outside surface of the museum.

The Connection (2017)
This is a design of a bridge spans the Hudson River in New York. The honeycomb shape is considered the most stable geometric shape in architecture. I wanted to create the bridge that can accommodate cars but also food traffic. cars are inside the hexagon tube like the bridge, while foot traffic can cross up on the grassy paths located on the exterior of the bridge.

Public Space (2017)
This is a design plan for an unoccupied space under the Highline in NYC. Because the high line is a public park, I focused on the idea of maintaining its public access.
The utilization of container boxes commonly found in a storage area to fit the general theme of the area which is factories and storages. In addition, by lowering the concrete floor, it expanded the area that could be used for the public as the containers could arch over the lower floor.

Stairs & Bookcase  (2017)
This is a conceptual design of a staircase. The stair serves a dual purpose of transitioning from the first-floor stairs to a second-floor stair. Therefore, a single piece of wood would serve as one long piece connecting a top level to the bottom level stair. Not only does this design serve the purpose as a stair but can also maximize its space by utilizing the space underneath the stair as a storage area. I placed some books on the shelf and created a tree-shaped window which gives light to both the stair and the bookshelves.

Starry Mountain (2017)
This installation represents a mountain in an abstract form. The shape of a mountain terrain from a bird's eye view was directly converted into a simplified shape of a pyramid. By installing light sources behind each small pyramids, it also depicted the night sky being reflected onto the mountains similar to how night sky is reflected onto the ocean.

Mannequin City (2016)
This work is a sculpture created from a child-size mannequin, that symbolizes my childhood memories of Busan, Korea, I felt compelled after finding this foam mannequin to create a landscape and carve within it a world once familiar to my youth as well as my need to connect my youth to my present self.

The Flowing World (2016)
This installation is made out of 3 books that I carved out thus,  representing the three cities that had a major impact on my life. I wanted to make an installation that pulls out the outmoded thoughts and beliefs of past places and join them together to form a new map.

Convergence of Straight and Curve (2017)
In this piece, I merged two city maps with two distinctly different street organization. One of the maps I used was of Manhattan and the other was of Paris. Unlike Manhattan where the street organization is in a grid formation, Paris's street organization is in a circular formation. After assessing the advantages and disadvantage of each formation as well as the organization of different infrastructures, I merged them into a collage that seems naturally connected as if it was a familiar map and still functions.

Chroma (2017)
By coloring the Queensboro Bridge located in New York, my intent was to show how a monotone and dull bridge can transform and express emotion by simply changing the colors. By adding dark lines, not only did it enable a sharper line throughout the whole piece,  but it also enhanced the perspective.

Desire (2017)
In this is a self-portrait The extreme close up of the face depicts the spark of wanting to explore the outside world. The frame creates a barrier between the painting and the audience and by utilizing a somewhat reflective frame, I tried to convey that the painting is directly looking at the audience being reflected on the clear panel.

Assembly Line (2017)
This artwork is based on a massive garbage can filled with deconstructed materials from a building under construction near Madison Square Garden. This garbage can vividly portray the transformation the city is experiencing through consistent creation, redevelopment, and construction.

Segovia, Spain (2017)
This artwork is based on an archaic street located in Spain. This work portrays how the clustered houses located within the city creates a wall-like barrier that extends infinitely.  The narrow street bridges me to the inveiled destination but only if one participates and travels the path, am I allowed to have new experiences,  and connections.

Exhaustion (2017)
This self-portrait is directly drawn from a moment captured in a photograph while brainstorming for an idea. It shows the frustration of identifying ways of transforming an idea to become a painting or a drawing.

Me, Myself & I (2017)
This is a self-portrait that was intended to show my needs to contemplate the world around me. By surrounding myself with prints of infrastructures, I wanted to show the connections I have with places in my past but also the unknown places in my future.  The three faces which are looking directly at the audience, to the left and to the right portrays the idea of transitioning to the different perspective of the world in my hopes to gain better understandings.

Polarization (2017)
I was trying to show a collection of the very fundamental geometric shapes that form our current world, organized in a way that best shows harmony and unification. The worlds we live in are a combination and transformation of different geometric shapes organized in a particular way to create an aesthetically pleasing object yet to have practical usage. I wanted to emphasizes the importance of the fundamental and basic shapes that form our current world.
