Far from being my best result, but ok. There should be a time for a bungle too. Honestly I adore Veronika's works and I am grateful for all her free webinars but the way she explains things is not my cup of coffee)) I am lost in all this "I did this but you shouldn't have" and "hmm I have no idea which color is that but you will not have a chance to see this webinar again so deal with it". I came back to studies and... It's not that fall started here, but it is me who signed up for another watercolor course by amazing @sergei.kurbatov and @enterclass So here you are. An autumn wedding. I was not prepared for the class so I don't have proper materials like good paper and a big brush. The season of mushrooms is there, but this year I did not find any. Well, I found lots of amanitas when I was in Estonia, but it's a pity you can't eat them :) At least my sketchbook will have it! During last days I did not have much time to paint, also I did not take my bag of markers with me, so it's been for a while I did not draw with markers. And now finally a long awaited calm weekend (remember? In Israel Friday is like Saturday in Europe). So I got myself a cheap square sketchbook in a local shop and finally put my hands on my beloved markers. Yesterday I said to myself, now I wanna do a fast marker sketch of a cabbage for #скетчмарафон_собираем_урожай and then do other things. How you botanical art people do not kill everything around you while painting these everlasting detailed masterpieces, because even with this small cabbage sketch I have almost exploded. OK, challenging myself is a good idea but next time I should consider a challenge that is not gonna be so time consuming :) still did not finish this one but I cannot look at it anymore. If you think I am only doing GOT things, I did some really fast watercolor sketches following @maryana_bryukhanova style and her marathon #веселыйскетчер Here in Haifa it was my first time I tried cacti fruits. Pitaya happened to be really nice, but weird looking opuntia(aka prickly pear) fruit tasted like juicy potato :( In Israel this fruit is called "sabr" and they also use this word for people who were born here. There are two reasons for that: opuntia is not a local plant, it was brought here with other agriculture plants from America. And despite dry and poor soils, this cactus feels here like home and is very fertile. The fruits skin is full of very nasty spines, but it is supposed to be sweet and tender from the inside. They say so are the people living here.

Not my day definitely! Today I went to a campus stationary shop (if you've been following my account for some while already, you probably know I am a stationary maniac 😍) Soo they give great discounts for students and I still didn't get my student card (learning sovlanut - patience - is essential in Israel). So I asked some other student to use their card and the seller was super angry about it and didn't let me have the discount. Ooookay. But when I came home and was unpacking the frames I bought for my paintings, one of them got broken in my hands 😢😥😰 In other situation I would bring it back to the store, but I don't want to talk to that rude guy again :( well, my first and hopefully the only unpleasant experience here though. What would you do on my place? Also this one is another study from #billyshowell book.
