Artspace's 2023 exhibition season kicks off this Friday night, January 27, with an opening reception from 6-9 p.m. for three solo artists and a group exhibition of Artspace members' work. Our featured artists, Reni Gower, Franchell Mack Brown and Sandhi Schimmel Gold, will speak about their work on Saturday, January 28 at 2 p.m. The reception and artist talks are free and open to the public. In Review: 2022 Programming & Partnerships In addition to our gallery exhibitions, Artspace has been actively pursuing partnerships and community involvement in 2022.

Classes: classical drawing; watercolor; science class on the physiology of bats; writing; yoga; art appreciation.

Nonprofit organizations have been supporting each other: Artspace collaborated with Feed More, Art for the Journey, Brightpoint, Thomas Jefferson High School, the James River Association, with plans for many more in 2023.

Jazz bands, quartets and young musicians have performed, and a monthly music program is planned for 2023.

Poetry has taken off! Slam Richmond has regular events and hosts other poetry groups.
