I am not attending byler week and i was very sad, so i wanted to make up for it with this one which celebrates stranger things day a bit and confirms the importance of will's painting! Mike Wheeler playlist predictions just in case we get some new ones today. (Aka time period accurate songs I associate with Mike and would explode if they do update his playlist and include them lol)

(This is THE Mike song to me, I’ve said it multiple times. “Every time I think of you I feel a shock right through like a bolt of blue. It’s no problem of mine (being gay) but it’s a problem I find (homophobia). Living a life that I can’t leave behind (trying to hide it). But that’s the way that it goes and it’s what’s nobody knows. And everyday my confusion grows.” Tbh I could explain nearly every lyric and how it relates to Mike but let’s continue with the other songs)

(Will = angel to Mike also if there is Erasure ANYTHING on Mike’s playlist I will LOSE IT gay synthpop agenda fr)

(“Broken ice (blue) still melts the sun (yellow)” and “you’re out of touch (homophobes) I’m out of time (continues mikes theme of being late lol)”)

(Would they be so bold as to put a song about coming out on his playlist? I mean they put freaking Smalltown Boy on the original so I can be hopeful lol)

(“I’d see delight in the shade of the morning sun (yellow) my morning sun is the drug that brings me near to my childhood I lost replaced by fear. Now that we’ve grown up together they’re afraid of what they see.” This is the most Byler song to Byler come on)

(“Oh blue (Mike) savannah song, somewhere ‘cross the desert (s4)- on the open highway my home (Will) is where the heart is” again if we get a single Erasure song I will LOSE IT also you can reverse this one to be Will POV too it works for both)

(Extreme was already used in S4 but if they do bring back glam rock for Mike I like that this song would match with Will’s “Boys Don’t Cry” because it’s openly showing Mike is crying his soul out this song is about crying)

(“And I won’t stop until I’m holding heaven (Will) in my hands. I won’t let nobody turn me off the track (aka back to normal) now there’s no turning back. Won’t let no worries turn me inside down. Now there’s no room for doubt I’m headed towards my destiny (coming out) and it feels ELECTRIC to me” notable mention the guitar solo in this song is done by Alan Murphy, a gay man who passed shortly after this album and I think it would be so freaking meaningful. He also worked with Kate Bush!!)

(Idk I just feel like Mike would listen to Duran Duran these lyrics go with secret dating themes “face to face in secret places, feel the chill. Could it be the whole earth opening wide (reference to hawkins being split open) until we dance into the fire (metaphor for hellfire/being gay being treated like we’ll all burn in hell) that fatal kiss is all we need.”)

Annnd I have more songs on this playlist most of them are Mike POV, there’s a few I consider Will’s on here too. Eventually I’ll complete this and order them in a way that flows. Right now it’s just whenever I listen to a old song that reminds me of them.

I want to kin Mike in peace but this ugly yellow I'm-
