“You haven’t seen it yet?” Kiba tilted his head. “It's a big yellow cat that has been prowling this whole block, hissing at anyone who passes.”
“I don’t usually pass this way.” Hinata turned her head toward the door. “Do you think someone is feeding it?”
“Are you going to go feed it?” Kiba smiled knowingly.

Shikamaru shrugged as he sat down and leaned over to look over her shoulder. “Legal documents are the least fun riddles because the answer is always boring.”
Hinata cracked a smile. “I don’t think you would like being a lawyer.”
“No. It’s a lot of work for an argument that isn’t about who is right. It’s about who can be more convincing.” Shikamaru sat back with his cup.

Hinata picked at her stupid cake with a knowing smile on her face. “You don’t like the plush, do you?”
Sasuke chewed on his distaste for the big stupid toy. “I can live with it.”
Hinata giggled, looking over her shoulder. “I think it’s cute. It’s probably big enough to take a nap on.”
“The first thing I thought was to go out and get a bigger one,” Sasuke admitted.

Hinata took another sip of her tea. Aware of her throat. Persistently aware of her throat. “I just… I seem to cause a lot of trouble.”
“You are just realizing that now?” Sasori raised an eyebrow at her. “You have been causing trouble since the beginning. You might as well continue on like you have been.”
Why Is It Always You? Chapter 26 SasuHina ✿ Ongoing
Hanabi slammed open a classroom door and looked around. “Does anyone know what class Sakura Haruno is in right now?” Everyone stared at the lower classmen, startled. “Come on, someone knows.”
“Two down.”
Hanabi turned and frowned at that guy that Hinata invited to her engagement party who was lazily half-pointing down the hall.
Introducing the phrase "found family" to fandom spaces was a mistake. Now half of fandon wants to force their "found families" into neat little boxes like "this is the dad, this is the mum, this is the fun uncle, these ones are siblings", even though the entire POINT of found family as a concept was to reject traditional family structures as the norm and rigid ideas of what a family even is, and then they get big mad whenever even dares suggest something romantic or sexual could happen between two completely unrelated mature adult characters they've arbitrarily decided are "parent/child" or "siblings" based on basically NOTHING in canon and start accusing that potential relationship of being incestuous. That's not how that works! That's not how any of this works!!
sansa and tyrion's marriage is interesting from tyrion's perspective. he is canny enough to understand that she is only saying things to please and mollify him, but he also genuinely thinks that she is "so dutiful" that she would tell him what she prays for in her frequent visits to the sept (and he thinks she's excessively pious). as the reader we know she's praying for lannister annihilation and would never admit this out loud, but tyrion doesn't seem to really... get that sansa hates him and his family. even after everything, the multiple beatings, being terrorized by joffrey, the entire forced marriage, THE MURDER OF HER DEAR BELOVED DAD - he has a perception of her as a simple dutiful girl whose inner world consists of piety and supplication. that her prayers are a form of resistance and escape doesn't occur to him. he also exercises a very similar lack of understanding with shae - he thinks she's angry with him bc she lost her jewels and silks, not bc she is scared of her unstable position.
Also, can we just really take in the true excellence and impact of Michonne’s character.
She’s a black woman whose story isn’t defined by the hardship of being a black woman.
She’s given incredible emotional range. She’s absolutely badass and strong, but not stoic and stiff. She’s allowed to be as compassionate and nurturing as she is fierce. She expresses grief, loss, anger, pettiness and annoyance; she also expresses hope, love, devotion, loyalty, and bravery. She’s tough and hardcore, but also soft and feminine.
She’s not the sassy best friend. She’s not the magical negro. She’s not the stepping stone for the male MC to decide he doesn’t want. She’s not forgettable or disposable. She can challenge white characters (including the main man) without the writing trying to humble or punish her.
She’s pivotal (the ratings and fan engagement prove that). She’s desirable. She isn’t chasing after a man who barely considers her to own detriment. Her love interest loves her unconditionally. He respects her and wants her in EVERY way. He dreams of her. He can’t truly live without her.
THIS is an immaculate character, brought to life by an incredible actress who is valued in production, and backed by the narrative. THIS is what characters such as Bonnie Bennett and Abbie Mills (amongst others) deserved. THIS is what we want to see.
