Hi! I'm Bao Bao The Geek! I'm a Chinese Londoner who travels a lot, talks a lot and takes too many pictures! (And according to Miss Pinky I'm an alien from the Argos adverts, and to Mr Bear I'm an absolute geek!). This blog is to share my thoughts and adventures from all my experiences around Planet Earth. Happy reading! ... www.asimplegeekylife.wordpress com www.twitter.com/baobaogeek www.instagram.com/qmbaobao http://www.youtube.com/user/asimplegeekylife

Indian Gourmet - London, Borough High Street
Think it’s time for another blogpost! Haven’t had an any inspiration to blog recently. Writer’s block maybe? I’m reading Breasts and Eggs by Mieko Kawakami at the moment (I’m on the last chapter), and I’ve felt a part of me was like the main character – trying to write, but nothing comes to mind… So before I read the last chapter, I’m back to food blogging for the time being! It’s so difficult…

T4 Bubble Tea
I happened to stop outside this shop, and decided to go for a sugar free bubble tea.I realised earlier in the summer that bubble tea shops offer sugar free bubble tea – 0% sugar! Hahah! Had I known earlier, I would have bought more bubble tea… maybe… T4 is next to Kiki and MiuMiu… if you had noticed, the shop is extended, but T4 is a separate entity in the space that they’ve been given. There’s…

Bunsik - London, Embankment
During a walk to Embankment Pier, I spotted a branch of the Bunsik Shop. The one in Charing Cross Road is always, ALWAYS busy. This was my chance to go to a not-so-busy store. In this small store, you can use the self-service machine, and so I used this opportunity to order more when I shouldn’t… But, I had just done a long walk, and felt, this was going to be a once-a-year order for me. I sat…

Rasa Sayang Restaurant - London, Macclesfield Street
After the Westminster Abbey trip, Mrs Hen and I went to China Town, and ended up in Rasa Sayang Restaurant. We were debating whether to eat at one of the buffets or eat at this place… and in the end we had Malaysian food. I don’t think we ordered much, but we did like the roti. Mrs Hen wanted fish (seabass – the crispy sambal fish) and the chicken curry with jasmine rice. I had the beef rendang…

A Visit to Westminster Abbey
Happy Boxing Day! I was only a little when I went inside Westminster Abbey, and that was with my primary school at the time. Queen Elizabeth II was still alive, King Charles was still a Prince at the time, and still married to Diana. Blimey, feels like a century ago…! This time I went inside as an adult…I had bought a ticket from Booking.com, since I had some leftover credit following my trip to…

Buldak Cream Cabonara Noodles
Have you tried these yet? I had a feeling this would a popular packet of noodles half a year ago, and they are! I cooked them with Korean dumplings just in case the sauce was going to be very spicy. Well, lucky it wasn’t too spicy, and the creaminess of the soup powder lessened the spiciness of the Buldak spicy sauce. The dumplings helped with the spicness as well! The cost of a packet is…

Port-de-Bouc Revisited - Marseille 2024
A quick post since I’ve been quite slow in posting these days. I went to Port-de-Bouc in May 2024, and it hasn’t changed much from when I last visited back in 2018. Wow. That’s a good 6 years! The Travels Family have changed so much since the last time I saw them back in 2019… I’ve missed them so much. Day 1 consisted of me spending a bit of money in Heathrow Terminal 3. I think this must be…
