I haven’t seen one of these floating around, and I know there was a pokeprom around Halloween, but what’s Christmas and New Year’s without a party, right? And since I’ll be busy graduating from college these next couple of weeks (hence the lack of ask responses), I’ve decided to organize a super fun holiday event as some form of compensation.

The concept is really simple, your character dresses up and attends the Yule Ball, hosted by Miss Toshi herself. Dates aren’t mandatory, but groups are highly encouraged! Post all comics, stories, asks—anything related to the event—on your blog! The rules, like the concept, are pretty simple.

The event will begin at December 31st and run until January 1st, and you’re more than welcome to continue on past the date, should you choose to!

This event is exclusive to all ask blogs, human, pokemon, digimon, etc—the only qualification is that you must be an ask blog and you must be willing to socialize with other mods!

Dress for the occasion. Semi-formal to formal should do nicely.

Be respectful and have lots of fun!

Details about the venue, for story purposes, will be revealed around Christmas!

And one last thing, if you’re interested, please spread the word! I don’t have a lot of followers, and in order for this event to reach as many eyes and creative minds as possible I’d really appreciate the help in getting the word out there!

Gift giving, Christmas drinks, Christmas Cards and many other Christmas traditions are not modern gifts of capitalism (though capitalism sure does love it) – they actually come to us via the Ancient Romans who exchanged all of those things on New Year’s Day (Strenae, named after Strenia the goddess of New Year’s gifts). To be honest, I don't know. I don't really have a set way to deal with anything. Not all pokemon are the same, even if they act like it, so I shouldn't treat them all the same either -- that's not to say I'd be intentionally mean, but I wouldn't try to hug or touch a 'mon I know is uncomfortable with it.

I just...let things happen. I try to be nice, I try to provide for them...they warm up to me after awhile, they trust me and they don't act out against me. Erion, he was terrible at first. Terrifying, I didn't let him out of his ball if I didn't have to - I didn't even catch him on purpose! But it just turns out that he was a huge softie, once we went through a few battles together and got to know eachother he quickly became one of my most loyal teammates. In fact, without him, I wouldn't be where I am now!

Specter. She's a bit trickier, she comes from a harsh land like Erions and yet she's vastly different. She's much more feral and violent, and she's very reserved. She doesn't like being out of her ball for much aside battle, and it doesn't help that just when she was warming up to me she nearly died in my hands...We've been together for awhile, though, I didn't get her much long after I got Erion, and the Luxury Ball that she's in makes it a bit easier to get along with her. Recently, she's been letting me hold her paw! I think it's a huge step forwards, even though she's still bothered by the act she'll let me do it.

And then there's Carmine.
