I have been alright. I didn’t write for a long while, but this month I posted my first work to ao3 in nearing 2 years, for another fandom. I’m going to start writing more again. And actually finish things! So I am excited.

Hello everybody!

I don’t know if anyone who follows this blog is still active, or even remembers that this blog exists (fair, seeing how long ago I posted here) but I wanted to make a final post here.

A final post because I want to officially say that I am never coming back to this fic, and BOTWOT will not be updated.

I left the Sanders Sides fandom in early 2021, with a final fic that was my longest one shot ever written, which got much less response than my usual fics. This is not why I left the fandom, I was already losing interest and growing frustrated with Thomas Sanders, and was just pushing through to finish that fanfic. In fact, I’m sure half the reason that that fic got so little traction was because the fandom as a whole was declining.

At the time, as you can see from previous posts on this blog, I wanted to finish “Best of Todays/Worst of Tomorrows”. I don’t like leaving projects unfinished. And I had/still have a fully written outline for how I expected every part of this series to unfold until the very end.

But I needed time away from the fandom. It was toxic. Toxic positivity. Toxic tone policing. Issues with paying artists what they were worse, and declining content both in terms of frequency and quality from Thomas himself.

I half expected for my interest in Sanders Sides to be rekindled. When the next video came out, I may gain new interest and write the rest of this series as quickly as I had the first parts.

But as everyone who is still in this fandom knows, there has not been an episode since I left nearly 2 years ago. There hasn’t been an episode in going on 3 years. And I’m never going to be interested in Sanders Sides like I was again.

I really did like the series. I really did love the characters. And for a time I really loved the fandom. In 2018-2019 this fandom was and still is the most responsive, and open fandom I’ve ever been a part of. I don’t think I’ll ever see a fandom that was that uplifting of fan content again. I don’t think the Sanders Sides fandom is even still like that now.

I’m not over tagging this post, because I don’t want anyone who doesn’t care for this particular fic, if anyone still does, to worry about this post. I just thought it was important to update anyone who still might care. Because I do value you and I thank you for all the love this fic got. This is still the only fic I’ve ever written that garnered fanart. I don’t want to be like certain other creators that leave people hanging. I’m sorry that I have for this long.

I will try to post my outlines to ao3 in one final part of BOTWOT sometime this week, to give anyone subscribed to the fic there some closure. I will be deleting this blog around that time too.

Update!!!

Your plot adoption post was great, but what I really wanna know is: What was going to happen in the next Logan-centric chapter of BOTWOT?

first of all, thank you for being so patient with me for an answer <3

second, I'm glad you liked my unfinished ideas and BOTWOT, it means a lot !!

As for BOTWOT, I think I've made a decision. It has been a year since the last update, but I realized that I haven't deleted the blog, @ask-botwot , I have kept the playlists in my Spotify, and I still have the outline and first part of the Logan installment saved. So obviously some part of me is still holding on to the story, despite the fact that I'm done with Sanders Sides in a more general sense.

So, I think that I am going to try and finish the final parts of the story over this summer, after my graduation! Becuase of this, I won't post my whole outline, but because you specifically were interested and you really deserve something after waiting so incredibly long here is a little breakdown:

The main story of BOTWOT has 4 installments left:

- Part 5: "made of bad code" - The Logan installment! This one is already started, and like previous installments, will be centered around Logan's journey growing closer to Thomas. There will be many things to look forward to, including family dinner, Logan being the world's most responsible 12 year old, the story of Logan's family, and learning to rely on others and not keep your worries inside. + a Joan reappearance!

- Part 6: "King and Lionheart/Lost Boys" - I'm sure you can guess who this two parter centers around. Sibling arguments, picking sides, sacrifice and a surprise visit from a mother, this is when you really get to know Roman and Remus.

- Part 7: "right where you left me" - The Dee Janus installment. This part is rather dramatic, like our favorite 13 year old. There will be moments exploring Dee's relationship with his possible siblings, a disappointment, a rift caused by conflicted feelings, and a confrontation that can make or break the family.

- Part 8: "The Infinite Possible Ways to Love You"

Your BOTWOT fic is so good it distresses me. I'm so glad we're getting another Logan-focused bit in future! We've seen him tentatively opening with Patton and the twins — is it too spoilery to ask which of the other kids he bonds the best with in future?

as for your question,,, well,, like the Patton part and Virgil part, Logan’s part will, of course, showcase the growth in his relationship with Thomas. As for the other kids,,, all I can say is that Dee does not plan on bonding with anyone anytime soon, and you can look forward to some brotherly Analogical to round us out 👀

I was always a bit wary about Remy and Thomas being an Actual Thing (not just the flirting, Remy always does tho) because of the whole family aspect, and I never wanted this story to focus on romance, so I planned on just seeing what you all thought about it after Remy’s introduction, but no one really caught on to that possibility....

But I like this more. And I’ve already thought about how it could work,,, Mr Nico Flores will be added. For sure.

update on botwot!

hi guys, sorry for not posting here in a bit. At the end of the summer, after I finished “Talk to Me”, I said that I was going to take a short break from this fic so that I could work on other fics and won’t get burnt out on this one

At the time, I had planned to come back and post the next part (Logan’s part) on Logan’s birthday, November 3rd. However, due to school and other fics that I have planned that have a stricter timeline (a gift exchange fic, a Halloween fic, and my own Christmas fic), I do not think that I will be able to get another part of BOTWOT out in these last few months of 2020.

That being said!!! This hiatus in no way means that I don’t want to write BOTWOT, I do very much. I think about this au all the time, and I would love to still be present on this blog talking about it during that time. Maybe I could even be convinced to drop some insight to Story Secrets as a reward for being patient with me 😅

School is just a lot right now, since it’s all online and I suddenly am very bad at Physiology, and all my free time needs to go into those other three works I have.

I wanna listen to them so badly but I’ve just been so busy!! I should just throw one on when I’m driving to work tomorrow. Do you recommend starting with any one in particular? I keep getting anxious about choosing (which is dumb of me)

I don’t recommend any particular order, but you can always go in the order of age. Patton’s is a good one (in my opinion lol) and he's the eldest ! But also if you just want to start with your favorite character or a random one, that’s okay. There is no particular order.

Honestly, though, I should have dropped them one at a time. Having all six is probably overwhelming.
