What was your favourite story while at the Traveler's Outpost?
Well, my personal favorite story is something really good when I'm on me marshies.
So apparently there's this corporation of this race called "humans", and they took over an entire planet! And then, they enslaved the population somehow! Ah, just thinking about it makes me laugh

Does it get a little dizzying up there? Everything spins around so quickly..
Well, not really. I mean, sometimes the ruins on the south pole spin too fast, but I'm only really dizzy when I'm on those marshies.

(It's not like I'm used to it or anything)
More Outer Wilds babyyyyy
I played a lot more since I last posted, so here’s some of the things I did. Each bullet point is a separate run.
I got to space, landed on The Attlerock, and then died immediately because I forgot to suit up.
I landed on The Attlerock and remembered to suit up this time. I explored for a bit, talked to the guy chilling there (forgot his name,) found the Nomai Lore Zone™️, and died to the supernova.
I landed on Brittle Hollow and registered quantum fluctuations to my signalscope, found out about a “quantum moon” the Nomai journeyed to, and fell into the black hole and died in the middle of space.
I explored a bit more of Brittle Hollow and found the remains of a civilization enveloped by ghost matter, and then went back to Timber Hearth to register that weird teleporting stone in the museum as a quantum fluctuation. Then I died to the supernova.
I love this game so far and how seamlessly the world fits together. I have some guesses on the lore that I’ll post when I get to the quantum moon.

Hey Esker, how old do Hearthians get to be? Are you old? You look a lil wrinkly, haha.
Actually I'd like to think that I aged gracefully thank you very much! Yeah, most Hearthians live to about to their late sixties, if not then possibly their seventies. And yeah, I'm getting pretty old alright. At least the gravity of the moon's helping with my bones!

Hey Esker! What sorts of holidays do you Hearthians celebrate? Do you go down to Timber Hearth to celebrate or do you just do your best on the moon? Any holidays you like a lot? Any you dislike?
Well every, now hold on, I'm thinking, 12 or so years we celebrate the planets aligning, and we usually celebrate the birthdays of the hatchlings all on the same day. As to how I celebrate them, well for the alignment day it actually helps more if I stay up here believe it or not. And for the hatchling thing, I just like to stay up here. I never bonded with many hatchlings other than Marble anyway

Hello Esker! What does moon dust taste like?
Why would I even try that? The only nutrients there are only used by the trees, so why would I even need to eat the dust?

Hello Esker, how are you? I'm curious, exactly how strong are you? Can you lift your chair? A nice big moon rock? A whole astronaut?
Eh, on the moon I can lift some thrusters, but overall I'm not really the strongest hearthian.

What's the fastest way to eat ten marshmallows? One at a time or shove them all in your face at once?
Why would I just shove 'em in my face like a madman? Of course I'd eat them one at a time!

Hello Esker! Quick question, do you know what birds are? 0v0 Before I tell you, I'll give you two pieces of info and I'll ask you to guess: birds are animals that can be larger than your entire torso and they have two legs.
Wow, from that description they seem mighty scary!

Gawd that's mighty pretty
Hello Riebeck! Greetings from the humans! This is a bird.
Tumblr media
Feel free to lord this information over the rest of your fellow Hearthians.
Woah, I love the colors! The beak looks pretty dangerous though. Hey everyone, the human just showed me what a bird looks like!
Hey @ask-gabrro @ask-esker @ask-marble everyone, look at this bird

Does the space program actually have anyone 'in charge' as it were, or can just anyone join and pick a role?
Well Hornfels has the final say on the more important issues, but everybody kinda does their own thing. I ain't complainin', I'd be overwhelmed with issues just as much as they would given more work to do

What's the deal with all engineering problems more or less going through one Hearthian anyway? Why's Slate got almost all the say there? Don't they have, like, anyone doing manual labor with them, even if it's just hammering nails or welding?
Well we used to have another engineer, that being Tungsten. Unfortunately they died before they could teach anyone other than Slate about the basics.
Oh, you meant if anybody helped them. Yeah, Mica sometimes helps Slate around the shop. Also Marl sometimes helps them with the wood bits. But yeah Slate is our only electrical engineer. Hopefully they can train Mica enough to be a somewhat more cautious one.

Hi again, Esker! So, I've heard you've been in the space program since the beggining, right? Are you happy with how the whole thing's turning out, or do you wish it went differently in some aspect?
Well I might have a few issues. For starters we need to pack better tasting provisions in our ships. Pemmican is not cutting it anymore. Second, now that we've landed on every planet we should put more metal in our ships. Third, allow remote access to the ship log Slate, we've been able to do that for years Slate, why won't you actually do it Slate... [THIS GOES ON FOR A LONG TIME, SPECIFICALLY THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE LACK OF REMOTE SHIP LOG ACCESS]

How do you measure time in your solar system ? How long is a day ? A month ? A year ?
Well a day here is just how long it takes for Timber Hearth to rotate around its axis, or thirteen hours over here. A month is thirty-ish days, and a year is another thirteen months (ask Hornfels why, not me)
