"You make it sound like you're forced to keep me," Scar sighs wistfully. Reduced to the cat's emotional support human. Oh how far he's fallen, he thought.
All lighthearted thoughts, of course. Probably.
He finds himself smiling more softly rather than his usual enthusiastic one at Cub's quite admittance, "Ditching the Goodtimes would rid you of a good time? Well, I'd hope so!"
Scar tugged them both forward as a staff finally ushers them inside. His grip tightens subtly as it gets darker the further they enter, "But don't worry so much. Stay long enough and you'll be having a Goodtimes in your hands for life," he whispers ominously yet adds no further.

Which is... fine! The last date- hangout- whatever.. didn't go that bad, and this upcoming one shouldn't be that bad either considering that he initiated it out of impulse and pure spite.
Scar still didn't know whether to scold himself for it even as he finds himself in front of Cub's dormitory door, willing himself to not look at concerned passerbys who watched him pace around like a nervous animal.
Miliseconds later, he eventually found his little bit of dignity left and decided to finally announce his presence, "Cubby Wubby Cub Cub!" He knocks four times, "Hope you've got energy to come with poor lil ol' me to the amusement park! Open up!"
Cub had been watching Scars shadow under the door for the lastt few minutes, holding back a smile the whole time. Yes he was nervous, but it calmed him to know scar was just as nervous.
After waiting a few seconds he opened the door- not to fast. He didn’t want it to seem like he was waiting by the door the whole time…which he was.
“You actually came.” was the first thing he said, lacking a better thing to say. “Well, of course you came. You said you would.”
“I was just cooking before this, so you get awake cub today.” he stated, grabbing his keys from their spot by the door before stepping out next to scar “I’m ready when you are.”

"Stop teasing me or I'm telling the cat on you," Scar returned the joke back, jutting his bottom lip out to seem really offended, or maybe just a bad attempt at suppressing laughter.
Not that he had to suppress anything. When they reached the end of the line to the haunted house, being within the proximity of the building actually had him shutting up.
Scar squeezed a hand under Cub's free arm and linked their arms together. He stared ahead like this was the most normal thing before he stiffly turned to say, "This is a precaution so that you and the cat don't run off without me." He squinted his eyes, "But not an actual invitation to attempt to run without me when we get in there, okay?!"

"The biggest for the biggest cutie, of course, of course!" Scar pretended to sigh exasperatedly, like he totally wasn't going to be practicing carnival games in his free time from then on.
He leads to the haunted house. Scar wasn't too concerned or afraid with the outside appearance, but the actual experience might be a different story.
"You don't have to project too much of your fears onto me." Scar nudges Cub playfully with his elbow, taunting him back for his previous tease, "If you wanna hug and scream your new emotional support toy, I won't be judging!"

Scar has to physically will himself to not play another round just to hear more praise. His cheeks are starting to hurt from smiling, or maybe that's the heat on his face finally starting to sting. He wouldn't know. He didn't go for Biology related courses for a reason.
"I'll practice up so I can get you a big one next date-" He paused. Too forward.
"..next hangout-" He paused again. Too friendly.
"..Next time!" He ended with panickedly shoving the stuff toy into Cub's hands, laughing aloud like he totally meant to stutter.
"Aaaanyway! I guess you have a little guy to hold onto when we go to the haunted house now," Scar gestured over to the direction of where he thinks the haunted house is.

Scar was on cloud nine, chin up high and his expression bright. Almost as if his first throw didn't exist in the first place, yet he tries to stay humble, "You flatter me too much!"
He turned to receive the prize he was able to get with the amount of points he got. A chubby cat plushie that wasn't at all the biggest one, just big enough to be held by two hands, and still had almost the same design.
Scar had a sheepish smile on his face as he returned back to Cub with the little thing, "Tada! Not the biggest one, but it's still cute! Maybe cutest since it's from me."
To try and sell the point, he takes the arm of the plushie and makes it do a little dance, muttering a random melody to go with it. He stopped eventually before it gets too ridiculous.

"Yeah, yeah! Just... a warm up.. A warning toss for the bottles even! Gotta let them know who's the boss!" Scar forced out a laugh, ending with a defeated sigh when he realized how even more awkward it is for him to be purposefully loud to cover up his fumble.
He recovers quickly, taking another ring off his wrist, "But I'm serious this time!" And even Scar hopes that phrase is true.
He hesitates for a bit before tossing another ring. This time, it did shoot over something, despite being colored to be one that gives the lower points. His head immediately snaps to look at Cub like he was fully expecting a compliment, but he looked away just as quickly to toss out the other rings, riding his brief high to be able to score at least an average amount of points.

Scar's gaze scanned the booth like a soldier on a mission. The amount of colorful bottles that are crowded together are almost overwhelming to look at, but ring tossing should be easy enough! He quickly paid the disinterested person manning the booth and organized the rings on his wrist, holding one readily.
To motivate himself further, he glanced up at the hanging cat plushies before stopping to look at Cub, feeling way too vulnerable under his watchful eye rather than motivated. He gets over it quickly, readying his throw, "This is for you, Cubby!" He declares confidently, the first ring leaving his hand.
He misses the bottle. To add salt to the wound, a kid beside him was able to get a ring on the same bottle he was aiming for. Scar holds back the urge to keel at his own embarrassment.

Though meant to be a joke, Cub's mention of stuffed toys had Scar looking over to the game booths, seriously thinking it through. It's been a while since he's played these types of games himself, but some egotistical part of him is confident that he's too good at anything.
But whether he was confident or not, Scar liked showing off. Maybe to Cub specifically.
"You've made such a compelling negotiation that I just can't ignore that now!" He tugged Cub over to the booths determinedly, throwing whatever itinerary he planned at the start of the day out of his mind.
Scar rambled for the nth time, "Do you want a big cat? Maybe the unicorn, if you have a soft spot for that, not that I'm judging. Oh! And they also have bunnies-"

Scar nudged back playfully, his pout breaking into his usual grin. Whatever embarrassment he had left was swept away by the wind as the coaster picks up again.
If he found Cub's hand again like the little greedy man he is, he would excuse it for his non-existent fear. He's innocent, tee-hee
When the ride did finally end, Scar cheered and turned to Cub, "So, round two?" He offered jokingly, "Any dizzier yet?"

Scar was torn between laughing like a maniac and screaming in embarrassment. He did a mix of both, a double reaction to the screams of everyone else and his companion especially.
When the ride slowed, Scar was hyperaware of the heat that crept up to his face, something he was only able to ignore briefly when the wind blew hard against him.
Another thing he was hyperaware of was Cub grabbing onto him, but it's something he could barely be sheepish about as the other taunted him.
"Well, I'm not letting you live this down." He pouted and returned the favor as he held Cub tighter, "So I guess we'll call it even."

Scar cackled, "Ah, yes! Tell the world the cause of your misery. Why not?" He just hopes no one in the ride would scream his name alongside out of confusion. Extremely embarrassing for him.
"Add an 'I love you' while you're at it! I don't want to be remembered too miserably!" He added when they reached the peak.
Scar was briefly silent before then snapping his head to look at Cub with undisguised panic, "WHICH I MEAN AS A JOKE-" he tried to defend, but he is cut off with his own gasp as the ride

"I love you worrying over me, Cub, but what if I was doing it so no one in front could hear you scream clearly as well?" Scar patted Cub on the shoulder, pretending to comfort him. Pretending as if he didn't hear something about the back row being the more intense part of a coaster ride just so he could hear raw screams he could tease out from his companion instead.
He flinched back to grip on the safety handle as the coaster snappily shifts forward briefly. He paused for a while as the ride slowly starts to climb the slope, forcing him to lay back as comfortably as he could.
"Ah, but of course! If screaming doesn't help you, you could always hold onto me again-" Scar quipped a little too loudly, cutting himself off with a laugh.

"Good question," Scar said when asked about the dizzy part, yet his answer held no actual assistance, "You don't!"
Admittedly, Scar was the scaredy type most of the time. Unfortunately for his date, that does not apply to rollercoasters. He did not hesitate to immediately tug Cub over to the back row, eyes sparkling eagerly.
"We can see everyone else on the ride scream!" Scar would excuse, but anyone who knew better knew that he was probably gonna be either busy screaming himself or looking at Cub.

Scar laughed and mercifully leaned back to give Cub some space, not actually sorry taking up any to begin with, "Well, you could always skip the dizzy part if you don't like it that much!"
He wills himself to look forward rather than Cub as he adds, "Not like anyone else is gonna take up your spot on my shoulder," he plays it off with a shrug. Totally casual phrase. Totally.
"AAAnywho! Our turn!" Scar is much snappier as he follows along the line, though he could easily chalk it up to excitement.

"Spreadsheets would probably be your thing, not mine." Scar argues. It was a scary thought to imagine himself putting each and every detail of a date in a spreadsheet.
Does that include having to schedule what time they'd hold hands and kis- Yeah, no, that's not a thought he's going to continue.
He focuses back in on the conversation as they approach the end of the line for the rollercoaster, "I could promise that!" He then leans in, "Aaand you could always lean on me if you feel too dizzy."

Scar huffed out a laugh, "We'll see if you'll still have an appetite after our first ride," he said ominously. Out of all things he took as a challenge, it was really over snacks.
The park was fairly crowded as they entered. Scar's attention was mainly on looking around as to what the amusement park had to offer so his steps often stuttered with how he only had half the mind to make way for people passing by.
Although the way to the rollercoaster was pretty direct, Scar went through the trouble of... purposefully leading Cub around to get away from food stalls. He was taking it way too seriously.

"One, I could just not be hungry for the whole day." He pauses to suddenly entangle their hands properly, dragging it up to eye level to shake their joined hands in front of them, "Two, I could just keep both your hands busy enough that you can't bring out your wallet," Scar declared seriously.
He broke into a playful grin as they reached the ticket booth. He swiftly pays for two tickets with cash already ready in his pockets, "So, are we clear or are we clear, Mr. Fan?" He offers the other ticket to him.

Despite his confidence in his poetic skills, Scar has no confidence in his dating skills.
Which is...
