Welcome to the idyllic town of Addersfield, located on History Island in Auradon, home of Illedale University.

Students here are children of some rather famous faces. And some have made fame in their own right, like King Ben or the Lady Mal. We’re proud to boast a diverse student culture and a rich history–

Good. I’ll warn ya right now, everybody– if you thought Auradon Prep was wild, you ain’t seen nothing yet! Illedale is bigger, meaner, and with the past not so distant to us, tensions can run pretty high around here.

‘Course, you probably know the story by now. When preparing for his coronation, King Ben declared his first royal proclamation to allow over 4 VKs from the Isle of the Lost to come to the city. After a whole showdown about good and evil, the four integrated into Auradon society pretty well, and then after drama at Cotillion, Mowgli rallied the Auradon people to fight for the disbandment of the Isle, sending the villains to rehab and their kids to Auradon Prep.

Catching you up since graduation, pretty much all of us ended up moving to Addersfield for higher education in Auradon’s system– cuz man, I gotta tell ya, it’s a lot better in Auradon than it is anywhere else. Well, ‘cept for all the evil takeovers, I guess.

But not everyone’s cut out for college itself. The nice thing about Addersfield is that it’s all a pretty tight-knit community based around the school itself. More of a college township, as it were. So some of AP’s graduates moved to town to work with a crowd they know well.

I can’t stay much longer, but don’t let the stuffy advertising fool ya about this place, folks! We’re a lot more than what the surface wants to pretend. Solo Para: Bowing Out

It wasn’t that she didn’t love Auradon. She loved having Toby here, and there was Cora, Eddie… and of course Ally, her sister, who she did so adore.

But at this point… that wasn’t enough.

She missed home. Not to mention being here put her closer to Alice and Mike. And she couldn’t do that. She couldn’t be here… not with them.

Auradon was, as she’d always said, certainly no Wonderland.

After leaving goodbye notes with her friends, Iris had quietly packed her things and shifted to a rabbit hole. Taking in one last look, she smiles softly. “Goodbye, Auradon.”

With that, she jumps in.

Iris squeals, taking the opportunity to go after her sister while she’s unguarded, laughing, though she takes in the pile with wide eyes. “This. Is. AMAZING. We’re gonna have the best pillow fort in all of Auradon!!!”

Then she pauses. “No, no, we’re gonna have the best pillow fort of all time!”

Iris sighs, shrugging, looking down. “I guess so. It’s just... different. And I’m... I’m adjusting, I guess. Slowly, anyways.”

She sighs softly, then perks up. “I’m making new friends, anyways!”

Iris sighs softly. “My so-called ‘best friends’ have kind of… abandoned me. One’s in a relationship so he spends more time with his boyfriend than anyone else, which… I’m trying to understand. But I just feel… unwanted. He only talks to me when someone points out that he should. And the other… I don’t really know why she doesn’t want to talk to me, but it hurts. Ever since we left Wonderland… mostly, it’s just been… lonely. And yes, of course, I have you, and Eddie and all my other new friends, but… it’s odd, that the people I grew up with, who are practically family to me… don’t seem to care that I exist.”

River could offer her no emotional support for this one, so he’ll be blunt. Though unsure how she’d take it, and if he’ll be villainized for it just as a certain someone had, but he thinks perhaps Iris was more understanding in this case. “That’s because you’re– we, as human beings are… expendable- easily replaceable. We like to think we’re unique in a way but we’re all the same, or similar, rather. And we grow up and our interests change, we find something new, we obsessed about something, but when our old friends don’t feel the same then the commonality disappears. Maybe you guys were just friends and stayed friends because you were all from Wonderland. Now you’re in Auradon where there is so much more to do, so much to see, so much to learn, everything changes. You should learn not to dwell too much on it, it’s just human nature.”

She really is a bright girl. I wish I had been more active... I’m glad she has a friend like you in her life. So, tell me a bit about yourself, Eddie.

Truth be told, she wasn’t so sure of that these days. She’d thought she’d had Mary and Toby, but sometimes she just felt so unwanted by anyone who wasn’t Eddie. She did her best, though. She kept hoping things would get better and working on that, but sometimes it still stung.

Shrugging again, she smiles brightly. “Whatever.”

“You guess? Why are you so unsure?” His head tilts slightly as if the question was a genuine concern. But really, he could only guess one reason why she might feel that. 

“No, no, it’s not whatever. We’re friends now so spill.”

That. Sounds. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve never heard of that! Guess it hasn't made its way to Wonderland yet! That sounds like so much fun though!!!!!!

Have you tried giving Iris glitter?

No, maybe I could give her sprinkles? It is edible glitter basically.

Mary... I wasn’t happy. Not by a long shot. We’re out of Wonderland, all I had was you and Toby... and then Toby started dating Charlie and stopped really talking with me that often... and you were pulling away, without saying anything. I wouldn’t have been upset with you if you wanted to talk about your issues. I want to help you, in any way I can. We grew up together, I care about you, a lot. It never would have been a bother.

I understand your judgement was clouded... but honestly, Mary, you didn’t even try. I could handle being picked on... if I could take the knowledge that my mother abandoned me because of who my dad really is, I think I could handle a little picking. Madness in Wonderland is common and beautiful, I’d have been there for you had I known.

Good. You should know, there will be consequences if you ever break my daughter’s heart. She’s gentle, and she trusts... a bit too easily, sometimes. I may not have always been active... but I have watched her grow, and I won’t see anyone tarnish her worldviews.
