anyway, the sentimental stuff. i haven't been in this community very long. not as long as some of the others, for sure, but being here has been great. this game, and the people that love it, have genuinely helped me discover and accept parts of myself i might not have otherwise. i've been able to do things i've always wanted to do (like run an askblog! thanks for all the asks lately.) and it's been great seeing just how much variety there is in how people engage with the game and its characters. this is just a handful of the many, lovely null designs out there.

there's something so charming about this game. it has such good appeal. it's simple, but you can make it so much more if you want to. there's so much room for interpretation, which irritated me at first, but i've come to love it as a feature rather than a flaw. so many ways to depict just one character, it's great! it's a perfect playground for people's imaginations.

the community is so full of people who love these characters and love putting them in situations, haha. even if i don't agree with an interpretation, it's nice to see how much love is put into it. all of that out of the way, i just really wanted to draw some of this community's nulls (and my own). here's to hoping i can be in this community for as long as i have love for bbieal. uhhh hopefully no one minds that i drew their null. if so just send me a dm and i'll fix it!

Baldi brah do you have a favorite book

This one here is The Why Café by John Strelecky. It's thought provoking, and small enough to read in one sitting.

Some previous favorites of mine, in no particular order, are;

Station Eleven, by Emily St. John Mandel-- a nomadic theater group travels a post-pandemic world, clinging to what's left of humanity, and recalling their lives before.

Six Wakes, by Mur Lafferty-- a sci-fi murder mystery! Clones, space ships, suspense!

The Midnight Library, by Matt Haig-- a young woman visits the space between life and death, and experiences the ways her life could have been different; and, in the process, discovers she wants to hold on to the one she's got.

And,

Day Four, by Sarah Lotz-- an illness takes over a cruise ship, and the occupants lose contact with the outside world, as well as themselves. There's a sprinkle of the paranormal in there, too!"

This question goes out to all the staff members this time! who's your favorite student (if ya have one) and why?

"He used to keep to himself quite a bit. Over the past few years, he's become more confident and comfortable with himself, and has shown himself to be quite the creative soul. I'm happy I could be a part of that."

[mod here: the only staff member who has a distinct favorite is sweeps. there's an unnamed student who spends extra time after class picking trash bits up off the floor. sweeps gives them secret candy on occasion.

this is based off of a janitor I knew when I was in like 2nd grade. he had a stash of those strawberry hard candies and werthers caramels that he'd give me when I was waiting for my mom to pick me up after school. I was usually the last kid there and I think he felt bad for me 😂 he was a nice guy though. he was also missing like three fingers??

ANYWAY. I haven't actually thought about anybody having favorites before. I genuinely feel that none of them do except sweeps.

evan loves all his students and invests a lot of energy into them, and is so proud of them when they succeed.

pilate is a bit more emotionally distant, but is equally protective of them all.

mrs pomp is pretty neutral and doesn't get emotionally attached to any of them, but gives each student the specific help they need to succeed in her class. she gives extra help to those who need it to keep up.

augustus doesn't like kids too much, truthfully. he takes his job seriously and 2ould never tell them directly, but he finds them exasperating.

mr marquis and amaranthe are just like. lol tiny humans are silly and a little dumb but they're fun. kinda annoying tho. but they're happy when a student shows enthusiasm for their particular field. so it's not "this kid is my favorite because they are invested in my class", but "that was a fun conversation. Anyway"

as the Creator, I think my favorite student is artie, just bc he's the most fleshed out. I don't know anything about the others 😂]
