A plan for a letter addressed to Ethan Nakamura from Alabaster Torrington written in the latter’s diary, estimated date of September 3rd. It’s unknown if it was sent.

To lieutenant Ethan,

I don’t know how to write this letter, there are so many words that I would love to say to you, but I’m going to try and limit myself to only the most important. I feel a lot of different ways about you, sometimes I want to throw you into the ocean and watch you drown, and other times I want to hold you so close and never let you go just so you can see how much I care about you. You feel like such an important part of my life, a part I’d never want to lose. I suppose that’s why I’m writing this down instead of saying it to your face. I know you don’t really believe in luck but gods I feel so lucky to be friends with you. I’m lucky you don’t smile often because every time you do I feel like you’re trying to rip my heart out of my chest. Gods, I thought I could just wait these stupid feelings out, but no, you just had to keep being a plague on my mind, so now I am writing this letter. You don’t need to return any feelings, you’d hardly let me force you to do anything, but I do just want this to be known, we don’t even need to speak of this at all, if you'd like.

Rachel, have you ever had visions about Ethan’s future?

Rachel: To put it simply: I don't know, probably not, I hope not. The thing with my prophecies is that, unless there's some sort of hint or Morpheus is feeling nice, I have no indication of who the people are in them. I doubt I've had any visions of Ethan, I mean, he'd probably tell me if I had considering he sees all my paintings. I suppose I'll never know for sure.

About non-godly parents: Rachel, how is your mother like? Ethan, Al, what do you think of your mortal fathers? Do you ever miss them?

[sorry if a similar question has been answered. I have bad memory.]

Ethan: You can't see this because we don't have a camera but the moment Rachel and Alabaster read this question, they both had the exact same expression on their faces. So in the spirit of being nice I'll go first to give them some time to think.

Ethan: My dad's great! I think I've mentioned him a little bit but he's one of my favourite people ever. I haven't had the chance to speak to him since I left Camp Half-Blood, I want to see him but I doubt I would have any spare time to travel there what with being Kronos' lieutenant. I miss him a lot but I know it'll all be worth it once this entire war is over.

Alabaster: I... don't like thinking about my dad. It's hard to even think of him as my dad, sometimes it felt like he really was my dad and he did love me, other times it felt like I was just a robot who had to perform every spell he wanted and needed to be fixed if I ever messed up. There's just a lot of mixed emotions about him. I'm not too sure if I'd ever go back to him, given the chance. I suppose it doesn't really matter, he's dead after all.

Rachel: My mother isn't too different from my father, I saw her a lot more often because my father wasn't present all that often. I always got the impression she was kind of a control freak, it felt like she had my entire life planned out before I was even born, I was supposed to be the studious boy who was going to inherit the company with no qualms. But then I turned out like, well like this and I don't think my mother ever really prepared for this. I don't have any plans to go back.

I messed up. This was a mistake. This shouldn’t have happened.

[A shaky breath is just barely caught in the recording]

She shouldn’t be here. I don’t know why I brought her here,it was a mistake, a lapse in judgement, a— No, I know what it was.

An indulgence.

[Quiet laughter lasts for a beat before fading into a sigh]

Oh, isn’t that just fucking pathetic, poor Ethan makes a friend and suddenly he gets distracted from the goal. Gods, what is wrong with me? I’m not supposed to be like this, I’m better than this, I was made to be.

I don’t know much about Morpheus, I don’t know that much about any of the so-called minor gods here, I suppose I could see if mo— no, I need to solve my own problems. I could see if Alabaster could give me some help.

It's nice that I get to see Alabaster again, that was a welcome surprise. I don’t think he should’ve helped me and Rachel, he’s got enough to deal with already. I do hope he and Rachel could become friends, it would make this easier.

[Another shaky breath is heard]

Deep breaths, Ethan. Trust your instincts, just like you always have.

Are there any other mortals in the army?

Rachel: Well, yes and no. I'm told there were mortals on the Andromeda that were staying there but Kronos kicked them off at around the time I joined so I never got to know any of them. There is technically another mortal here, Zorah, she's a magician from another pantheon, and before you finding out there were other pantheons definetly didn't send me spiralling thinking about how small our lives are haha, I've tried talking to him a couple times but I don't think she likes me very much. I think they and Al have some sort of dislike of one another for some reason so I think they just keep that when they're around me so there's not much i can do. I don't think many people actually like her because she spent like a week burning our food supplies, something about a "sworn nemesis", in any case nobody wants to bother him. I honestly think he might be a little lonely.

Are there any perks of being part of the Army?

Ethan: Eh, for some people having a place to stay is a perk enough but honestly for the average person the Army isn't exactly the best place but it works well for what we need. Also, I don't think us three have the most average experience of the Army; anyone of a high enough rank gets some priviledges, most notably getting their own room because we don't have the space here for everyone to. We were given the option to share but Alabaster wanted his "own space for once" and I didn't want to be kept up at night by different musicals, Rachel.

Rachel: Listen at least they're good musicals!

[while all the characters are still in the ta, basically in the year between botl and tlo it's about the Spring time for them. I know I probably will change at what point this is on the timeline but I doubt that'll be happening too soon and i'd probably do it through events because those are really fun, though the only event I have planned for the future would be for the 1 year anniversary (which is ony 6 months away wtf I thought i made it like 2 months ago) so not close to now]

thinking about my TA Rachel au and how in canon before she bacame the oracle Rachel always expressed her prophetic dreams in art so if she joined the TA that’s really only how she could express it

now I’m imagining a scene where Rachel is showing Ethan her art she made at like 3am and is trying to find out what it means and if it’s important

and Ethan who can’t understand art at all is just like ‘yeah, I like colours too’

Oooo what's the Ta! Rachel au about?

so basically Rachel and Ethan meet post ttc and Ethan is forced to explain the myth world to her and they become kinda friends. Later Ethan invites her to go into the labyrinth with him to help her escape her parents and so he can find his way to Mt. Tam. They become closer during that time and Ethan also realises that she can see the future due to her writing prophecies in ancient greek (a thing she actually did in canon).

Ethan then asks Rachel if she wants to join the TA with him to which she accepts because free housing and she gets to take down a theocracy! Ethan still has to fight Percy in the labyrinth who is with Sally instead of Rachel but Rachel just kinda hangs out with Alabaster who was sent to question her and they start bonding over their similar childhoods (their parents were rich but Rachel and Alabaster both had redemption arcs where they became communists/hj)

Alabaster, being the general, uses some connections to get Rachel in and she actually does kinda help them. And during that 1 year between botl and tlo Rachel Ethan and Alabaster actually start dating! Ethan still dies during tlo but Al and Rachel bring him back when the doors of death are open post son of magic.

The event is officially over! This has been a great week and a half and thanks to anyone who participated.

Seriously though thank you all so much, I've had so much fun doing this and I really hope you all did too! I genuinely cannot say enough how happy I am this turned out so well and really reminded me why I love doing this.

Nemesis and Morpheus: what's the deal with you two and Hecate and what was that 'backup plan' you mentioned

Morpheus: Alright, we should probably explain. Now, we like Hecate, we're so glad she's on our side, she's a great help et cetera et cetera but...

Nemesis: We're not convinced she's gonna stay on our side.

Morpheus: Listen, I know this sounds bad but demigods die, most of them very young and at some point you just gotta accept that. Even if there was some way to have them live longer they're mortal and they all die eventually. Me and Nemesis both agree we are changing things for, hopefully, the next few millenia so that means we can't prioritise the demigods we have right now. Hecate, however, if the situation ever came down to choosing between us and her children, we think she would choose her kids.

Nemesis: The backup plan is something me, Morpheus and Eris planned together, in case it appeared we weren't getting the respect we deserved we figured we would take inspiration from Hera, Poseidon, Apollo and Athena by plotting our own little coup. And, if in dire need, we do have a plan for a whole revolution. Again, only in dire need.

Nemesis: The reason we haven't told Hecate is because... we think she has a bit of a bias for Kronos. She directly helped Zeus against Kronos, I didn't care and Morpheus didn't exist but Hecate helped them a lot. A thing about her: is she's very petty on a good day, it's not usually a problem and I love it but we think she's biased for Kronos because the Olympians don't care about her. We don't want her to protest what we've had planned for almost a year now. At the end of the day we're her... allies and we want what's best for her.

Wondering how does Morpheus feel about being the only one in the trio not to have a cabin in camp half-blood so far?

Morpheus: I— What?!

Nemesis: pfft, I mean, that’s just awful Morpheus, I’m so sorry.

Morpheus: Not an ounce of sincerity in you.

Nemesis: I recall being insulted just prior. Oh, I only kid of course, that is unfair for you, completely hilarious but still unfair.

Morpheus: You’re damn right it is! Why would they give you and Hecate a cabin but not me? What, did they forget about me or something?
